QUOTE(linkinstreet @ Nov 6 2009, 09:00 AM)
Qadbak might not be the same as the old BMW.Sauber, especially rumours are that McLaren will be buying the manufacturing section of the old BMW
*

true, but Sauber has the technological knowledge from the original team minus the crew from BMW. I'm sure the HInwil base will still be there for Qadbak. Besides, Sauber's crew has been in the sport during the recent era of the sport, whereas Lotus has been out for quite some time. I believe it is still better if Petronas sticks with Sauber.

Next year - Najib-gate LOL

QUOTE
However, Force India believe certain portions of the car hold an uncanny resemblance with their current VJM02 racer.

Adding to their suspicion is the fact that former technical chief Mike Gascoyne now works for Lotus, and his team is now using the same Italy-based Aerolab/Fondtech wind tunnel facilities previously used by Force India.

Added on November 6, 2009, 1:02 pmAnother reason why Toyota could be leaving, could be due to the fact that nobody wants their engine?

meh, knowing Kimi's style, and his unpredictability, it could be Mclaren or staying on the sidelines earning more cash than ever...... , I strongly suspect 2010 no Raikkonen on the race track period!

Hopefully I am proven wrong and will eat crow.

Not hiring Kimi would cost more to Mclaren as they would not be strong enough to fight Alonso - Massa combination. How much Ferrari is paying him should not be a reason for Mclaren to reduce the salary offering to Kimi.

Sure they think they can save alot by not paying Kimi, but it will cost more when they can't get the WCC next year.

But, Hamilton + another certain finn driver won the WDC last year, despite it is Massa + Kimi.
And I think Kimi is no less better than Alonso is.

Heck infact Massa and Alonso always had some confrontations before. Eventhough they said they have put it down.

But not the WCC, that's my point, earning WCC matters more for the team as it will entitle them to more $$$

Indeed. Lewis don't really care who's his teammate. He has shown that he can beat a world champion in equal machinery before. mclaren needs Kimi because heikki is not that consistent in giving the team points

Yea true, my bad I didn't count for the constructor's as well.
Certainly has been a long time since Mclaren got the constructors.

Indeed I think Lewis and Kimi would be as good as Mika and Coulthard being teamates (okay I know all the controversies, but still they were good mates nonetheless.).

Certainly there won't ever be another Senna+Prost combination again.

kimi is playing these games cause he can..before this toyota can pay big buck for him but i guess he dont have confident they would build a winning car..the end anyway since toyota decide to pull out

mclaren would be the most logical choice, risk as well he can ending up 2nd fiddle in the team..equal treatment in mclaren is simply too hard to come by..not a single thing like this up kimi's ante..he have the freedom at ferrari, get big money its just dangerous if he not careful

LMAO..lotus copy force india..this make me laugh hard

Confirmed, Fairuz is only a test driver next season

http://planet-f1.com/story/0,18954,3213_5682149,00.html
Mike Gascoyne has all but confirmed that Fairuz Fauzy will be Lotus F1's reserve driver next season.

The 27-year-old Fauzy is a former Spyker reserve driver, but is currently driving in the World Series by Renault for Fortec Motorsport.

F1 newcomers Lotus are yet to name their two drivers for 2010, but the team's technical director Gascoyne has revealed that Malaysian Fauzy will be part of their set-up next year.

"Fairuz will be in the team probably as a reserve driver or a test driver. He has the talent but we don't want him to 'crash and burn' in the race because of his inexperience," Gascoyne told The Star.

"Take (Fernando) Alonso for example. He was signed as a test driver and didn't get a race seat until after three years with Renault and he went on to win trophies.

"This is exactly what we want with Fairuz, for him to have enough experience because racing in the Formula One is at a much higher level than he used to."
