Hi D-Link Users,
Can you please advice me how to upgrade the firmware for DSL-2640T? I have download the latest firmware DSL-2640T_2008072.zip. but inside the zip file there are 2 files in it as listed below:
1. config.DLinkEU-A_DSL-2640T.img (10kb) 2. DLinkEU-A_DSL-2640T_singleimage_kernel_fs_V3.02B01T01.EU-A.20080725 (2.91MB)
Do I need to upload both files or just file no. 2? If I need to upload both files in what order do I have to do it?
Looking forward to your quick reply. TQ.

Anyone got WDS working for this model? It was initially there in 2006 firmware but no longer available after the firmware upgrade since 2007.

They know the funtion of that model. But its not recommended for the topology. Mac address exchange upside down. If you want to know more you can use emulator to a similar feature but different model http://www.dlink.com/support/faq/?prod_id=1457

Response from DLINK. Looks like I have to sell this off and buy two access point instead. Guess what, it won't be DLINK again. Dear Customer, I have verified the link you provided and yes it is stated there that it supports WDS, however this feature of the router has already been removed. The link that you provided was version of 2006 and this was revised last October of 2007. That means new models of DSL-2640T no longer support WDS as shown from the link I provided: http://global.dlink.com.sg/site_pdtpdfs/DS...SL-2640T_ds.pdf. The reason behind this is because this product is a MODEM/ROUTER in one and is NOT an Access Point. That is for it to perform its operation at its outmost performance. DLink has released another product that would solely support this technology, which is the ACCESS POINT. No, you can no longer revert back the firmware to 2006 since it is no longer available at this point.
