Its frightening what otaku/japanese culture is becoming into. Saddest part is he actually brought the pillow to a restaurant, and only some people gave him funny looks. That means its normal for people there to do it? Wow, I am at loss of words.

Mentality like this is what f***s everyone up. Just because you don't hear it happening here, does not mean it won't happen.

still i respect him for that. he's good friend for sure. with his randomness and hikki almost all the time, i still consider his case still light not as heavy as those we heard at japan now.

by having "good" reports on anime related cases and news on certain tabloids, i can say that malaysians are still far away from japanese hardcore phenomenon, where they can even get married with shiryu or whoever the anime character they want.

worrying too much on these won't bring u anywhere. as long as u know where and what u stand for, otakuism is not as bad as reported in japan nowdays. u're not dead if u become an otaku. it's just for the love of anime not for the love of making love with your fav anime character. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

QUOTE
Honda argues that romance was marketed so excessively through B-movies, soap operas and novels during Japan’s economic bubble of the ’80s that it has become a commodity and its true value has been lost; romance is so tainted with social constructs that it can be bought by only good looks and money. According to Honda, somewhere along the way, decent men like himself lost interest in the notion entirely and turned to 2-D.

something like in those ELVIS days ... where those fellas adorn elvis everyday

women would shout, cheer, cry, weep like elvis is some kind of saint or jesus christ

lastly ... elvis died on the toilet bowl with drug overdose ...... and yet ppl will still think .... Elvis is the best

even if the same case happens here in our country, it won't be much more than 5% of it. i had to admit that by now, youngsters are more interested in anime rather than having american's cartoon show. i had my own experience on this case where my 3 years old nephew (Now 5) attracted more on bleach than totally spies. always asked about current episode everytime i went to his home. and still it's not that bad where his oldest aniki also watching and reading manga since the era of pokemon and slam dunk. both not showing any signs on going to be an old oyaji hugging pillow in the future. It may not showed that as a whole, but then they're just the same as me. having family that didn't go strict on what u want to watch and read. as long as u stays as a normal human being, acted like one, behave and at the same time have a strong interest in anime related matters - it won't be as dangerous as it can be.

On the hentai metroll case. they're just making it big out of it. what makes me mad at them is the hippocratic all lies behavior portrayed by some of their "said noble" writer. They viewed it as a whole but the truth is, they only know how to make things big and create whole new lies. as if there's no bangbus case, rape and murder in the real human case, it's just that making funs of anime culture and condemned it totally would be the only way for them to boost up their sales. when those who were deceived by them buy the story, another continuation will arise later with more ridiculous case and more bizarre sexy naked looking figurines sold here and there.

it's only u who can decide what you want to be. take it evil or good. be who you are just as what flame13th said ^. why worried over things that's far from reality.

well... that's true. sooner or later people will start wearing only undergarments.

about that 'not harming anyone' part. Though not actualy harming anyone, he actually create a trend or awareness which some people might get curious and follow. Sooner or later, that trend will become a normal occurence just like the old days where rape cases are low but now it is like an all time high, we now regard rape cases as normal occurence.
