Do a search on lowyat for your great name baithost and you should be able to count how many NEGATIVE thread open just for BAITHOST.
Could you please stand out for your company and explain to all of us WHAT IS HAPPENING and WHAT YOU PLAN TO DO???!!!

The shared host has been down for 3 days!!!
No reply on tickets, no update on status, NOTHING.

isnt here is right place for you send massage to your web hosting? My opinion look you cannot work. You have two way can do, 1. call them, if nearby you area, go to their company for inquire. 2. It is time looking for new hosting.

My friend, it's easy to say LOOK FOR NEW HOST, and obviously it's easy.
The important part is how to get back your files and database.

Don you understand that not only me, all users of baithost has been trying lots of ways to contact them!

And this guy, encoreweb, used to send me a warning because of this issue, http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=1062279
I believe he could be the person to answer us.

Anyway, I have some update for you guys who host under Baithost.
Encoreweb somehow mentioned to me that,
"Baithost is a division of SNA NETWORK SOLUTION (519789-A), part of SNA GROUPS SDN. BHD. (484068-A) and MYSYSNET SDN. BHD. (543865-M)"

I called mysysnet and surprisingly, their director doesn't know about this division (their company website is www.mysys.com.my), he will check, of course.

While waiting, I dig more about baithost.

My suggestion:

1) Wait for them to get up and running - if not go to step 2 anyway
2) Get a new hosting.

I've learn a lesson & that's we should do our backup regularly.

Finally, we heard from them.

"Dear Customer,

Greeting from Baithost!

First of all, we would like to make an apologize for unprofessional support has been given to all effected customer.

Out technician are still trying their best to restore all data to new hard disk. The Flux server was crashed due to some electronic issues, both hard drive which is located on the server were corrupted included the backup hard drive. we have manage to recover 60% from backup hard drive and none from System hard drive.

Our expected time to complete the repaired: 12am tonight.

we will email all effected customer once it's been up.

And again, we would like to apologize for the inconvenience cause.

we will do our best to improvise our server in the future."

at least there is ONE email from them.

btw, I'm already having a new host already.. just waiting for my backups to come back and then all jump over.

my blog still down while the other domain up and running.

my blog that are still down hosted on Flux server and the others domain that still up hosted on damya and exora.

damm took so long to recover flux server.

i manage to get hold one of their sales person and been inform, saturday and sunday, their support are out of hand and some email has been reply and some don't.

And only 2 person were in-charge for saturday and sunday! no wonder they out of hand.

any way, just receive email from them stating the server will be fully recover before 12am this midnight.

hopefully baithost will think the way to improve their service. i like the feature they provide.

All web hosting provider will encounter problem. if not server crash, Ddos attack. sometime it's took a few minutes and some time it's took more than a days.

i have been hosted on exabytes, serverfreak and ipserverone. all have problem! only it's not been posted here.

If you could, please name one hosting that have not been encounter any problem ? none i believe.

i'm not too sure why, when it's come to new hosting provider. they will simply post a comment on forum.

example: onebytes and baithost, a lot of comment were post here.

if we look at the senior hosting provider such as.

exabytes, their server down, i don't see any post here regarding their server down. eventhough a couple of days.

serverfreak down, i only see a few post. and then the thread been closed. 5 days downtime

but this is the 2nd time baithost is having a hdd problem. why cant they learn from their mistake in January 2009 and RAID their HDDs?? few days of downtime is really unacceptable especially with 0 response from any of the support team.

p/s. well, it says in the email that there were 2 hard disks (one backup one running)..I'm not sure which is true.

After the web hosting recover back, It is time to transfer your domain and file to new hosting company.

well i believe they have a back up hard disk, if you look back their first hard disk failure which was on January, they recover all our data from backup hard disk, how come you were saying they doesn't have backup ?

it is common to have hard disk corrupted when it is in heavily used or crash, last time, it's only took 48 hours to recover back from backup hard disk and in this situation, both hard disk were effected. so it's might took sometime to recover back all data within the hard disk.

come on give them time.

well maybe a part of the hdd was spoil t only last time. i did read about somewhere where not 100% was recovered. for consumers like us, programs like file scavenger can be used to retrieve data back from a damaged partition..

i contacted them on Friday/sat morning and that's it. After that I've been trying to contact them every hour, and no response. Come on, turning off the cellphones and not answering calls at all is not a good way to show your customers that you are working on the problem. They should at least acknowledge that they are still repairing or simply post up a note on their support site. The last message posted there was on Friday night 11.59pm.

Perhaps having a downtime for 4 days is not a major problem for you. But it is to me.

give them time? oh yea... i have no choice but to give them time because my data is on it. laugh.gif

I definitely agree with the fact that turning off cellphones and not answering calls is not a good way.

We can understand that hard disk failure happen now and then irregardless its a big or small hosting company.

But the key point is, as a hosting company PLEASE keep us customers updated of status .
