- To upload your file, there are few method. Most common method is through FTP (known as File Transfer Protocol). You need to have a FTP client in order to connect to the server and upload your files.

this is from the thread =>How to make a website/ Website building resources., Everything a webmaster needs.
i not sure how to work with FTP.
i download filezilla.

domain name is just a name, or an address

you also need hosting as a space to put your files. THink of hosting like a hard drive smile.gif

the domain name links to your hosting. so when ppl key in your domain name, they can see the files that u uploaded in your hosting.

Your host provider should give you FTP settings that you put inside Filezilla (or other FTP programs) which u can then use to upload to your hosting

after you get web hosting, you need to download ftp software too

you can try "filezilla" or "ftp commander", both are free and easy to use.

he already said he downloaded filezilla doh.gif

anyway, I would suggest that since u're new at this, u can try out the free hosting. then link your domain name to the free hosting.

later when u're more familiar with it, then u can get the paid hosting. then link your domain name to it. since u are using the same domain name (address) you will not lose any visitors anyway wink.gif

Your domain name does not appear in google so quickly. You will need to submit it to google and wait a week or 2 to get it indexed.

last time I use "awardspace" and "byethost" when I started my webmaster life 5 year ago.

some people recommended "000webhost", but my friend host his blog there and halfway missing, no news from the technical support, and his half year hard work gone because he does not backup the db time to time.

No, web space do not related to your domain name purchase... Domain name just served as your identity or name on the internet for your website.

Web space are coming together with your web hosting plan. smile.gif
