I usually go for clone PC, been doing that since I was studying in high school.

For clone PC, I can customize all the parts of the PC to my personal liking. Furthermore, it is value for the money spent.

The last branded PC I had was a Dell (Pentium 2) which was more than 15 years ago.

If you or anyone close to you can handle computers, get clone pc.

If cannot, get branded pc and enjoy their customer service.

definitely clone pc. i think all the parts from the branded pc also come from the same group of manufacturers which produced separate parts for DIY.

budget pls?

i'll just go for branded PC.

like http://www1.ap.dell.com/my/en/home/desktop...s=dhs&cs=mydhs1

RM 1399 / 1499 without monitor (assuming you already have monitor la)

comes with ORIGINAL operating system, 2GB / 3GB RAM, big HDD size.

delivery to wherever you are, can pay installment some more.

no need to waste time hunt parts and setup. say whatever you guys want about their PSU but they're still more capable than what most of you think.

---------

if you insist on DIYing, can refer to http://www.goldfries.com/pc-buying-guide/ for the RM 1.5k setup, gives you a basic idea of what you can get.

minus the monitor and you can reduce the cost. whatever la, just +/- agak agak.

if you dont know anything about pc and may need good support. get dell with onsite service.
if you have average pc knowledge and some skills with pc parts then only get clone.
from your post i think you get dell with onsite support. add a bit more you can get a notebook.

hahahahahahahahahaha... in the first place, will the manufacturer even put a PSU that wont be able to support the hardwares specified?? if do like that, even HP will go bankrupt in a few years due to massive RMA from customers

The last Dell I had lasted around 10 years (before I sold it off as scrap).

Also, the only parts that kept giving me problems from Dell was the Altec Lansing ADA speakers.

The rest of the CPU was sturdy and stable enough throughout the entire life of that PC.
