Hi,

Specification:

OS : Red Hat Ent 4.6 AS 32bit with cluster capabilities
Storage : SAN storage from IBM
Application : Oracle Data warehouse

Actually i don't know either cluster is problem or SAN switch. I have 2 server server01 and server02. Both same architecture and specification. Server02 is failover server. But the problem is only server01 can see storage that allocate from SAN switch. Server02 cannot see it. From SAN switch it can see both of the server. I new with SAN storage.

Some people said, i need some script that can read storage that allocate from SAN switch when failover. But i don't know how to create script,if server01 is down..Server02 is read storage from SAN switch. Any idea how?

Thank you.

Though your SAN switch already can see both your cluster nodes, you still need to make sure your SAN presented the LUN correctly to both nodes.

You can double check on the second cluster node by rebooting the node, go to HBA bios & rescan the LUN.

Which Cluster Aware filesystem (OCFS, GFS) you r using?

Does the SAN switch allow server02 to see it? Might want to dig more information from the SAN switch and the HBA interface manual.

I would check on the HBA bios to see if I could see the lun. If it's not there check the SAN switch if zoning is properly done.

dude, you are working for iperintis?

enterprise system administering is not a joke, you'll need to polish up quickly otherwise you'll be having problem if disaster comes. get a proper training as you can't expect fast respond from forums alone.

Would advise you to undergo proper training if you're dealing with SAN in future. You won't get a lot of understanding through this forum. You'll need to know what is hba, LUN, how should failover work etc
