roddick sure has a big serve but interm of his forehand he seem like to put a lot of spin to it, if only he flat it a bit, it would be nicer...

i've always believed that the most important part of tennis is movement..

Though roddick has a nice forehand to back up his serve..His movement are not that good when compared to Federer or Murray but is improving..

I hope to see him go far into the tourney..btw..Whose half of the draw is roddick in? Fed or Murray?

Roddick does improve alot since getting a new coach this year.
He already beaten Djokovic 2 times this year... no joke. But he is still behind Federer and Nadal.

Emm. He just lost a set. I guess he will win but it won't be easy.

Aussie TV is showing alot of Aussie players T.T Sam Stosur + Lleyton Hewitt.. and giving them all the fake praises they don't deserve. Blek.

Roddick through to second round.

He practically destroyed Chardy in the first set, 5-0 in just a mere 12 minutes. Though the 6th, 7th and 8th game Chardy got used to Roddick's serves. Gave him a bit of a time there.

Second set, lots of unforced errors for both sides. I don't know why, but there were obvious points where Roddick just gave up on the ball. Third set was where I think Chardy ran out of juice. Dropped his motivation and confidence.

BTW, Hewitt doesn't deserve any praises? Thats... odd.
Murray's match up next btw.

On a side note, would someone ask the commentators to shut the F up during play? Jeez. That VJ or whatever his name was, he just laughs and crack up unusual and stupid jokes throughout Roddick and Chardy's match. Damn bloody annoying. And one more thing, I don't mind the ads by Starports. But damn it, they are showing it too long.

Astro Supersport coverage on the French Open is the perfect example of how to comment on a match and how to air it live. Yea, I said that. Astro for once, does something better than anyone else.

Yeah, i agree that VJ is a lousy commentator... i think so at least... He and the other white guy always do the commentary for big matches in Starsports, and i don't like it at all. Sometimes i do switch to the cantonese commentatory.. haha for fun.. It feels fresh to listen to canto commentatory.

Starsports always show an Asian player in the first match, thats what i remember. Like Mirza, or some Thailand players.

Emm. I do think Hewitt deserves praises, but the local (Aussie) commentators make it sound like he is a big big contender... and big chance of reaching semifinals.. Haha. I think that was abit too much. And Sam Stosur as well, especially after she got into the semi of French Open, now she's the centre of attention for Aussie.

That VJ makes very stupid comments almost all throughout the match. Comments that don't have anything to do with the match at all. Like I remember him saying the Eye of London, and he starts to talk about the Eye of Singapore. And in the middle of it all Roddick and Chardy was in the midst of a rally. The hell?

Not today laugh.gif
Today they showed Jankovic as the first match.

Very standard for locals to praise their own superstars. But hey, Hewitt has won Wimby before. Yes thats, before. But same could be said about Murray. He hasn't even played a match yet and people (including himself) is already saying he is the winner. So I'll leave it at that for the moment, the slam is still very much open at this point.

Anything happens in tennis I always say.
Who knows if Murray crashes out like Nadal did a month ago? biggrin.gif

Added on June 24, 2009, 3:11 amWhat a match by Hewitt.
Destroyed Gineperi like he was nothing.

And yet people say to forget about Hewitt. I think not. laugh.gif

Hahaha.... well, injury is one thing. I don't wanna talk about that, as it could go on too long.
Let's see if Hewitt can do anything good against Del Potro then. If he can, hats off to him.

Sharapova's match starts at 8. So, it will be after that only Fed's match start.

Yea, I have a feeling Starsports going to overlapsed Sharapova's match for Serena. I don't want to see that big black gorilla playing, it's just.... shakehead.gif

Starsports never show live.... about 5 minutes slower.

Too bad Sharapova is gone.
Looks like she is far from being the best again.

Second round not even over, already say title is going to RF? shocking.gif

No offense to RF fans.
But there are a loads of other players doing very well in Wimby too. Some as good if not better than Fed at the moment.
