m43 is for who?
1) m43 is suitable for people who demand small camera with interchangeable lens 2) although small, its still not pocketable compare to best compact like LX3, S90, F200EXR, WX1...etc Olympus or Panasonic? 1) Olympus for people who want in body stabilizer. Panasonic for faster Autofocus. I think we should forego the real technical meaning of a DSLR, and just use it with cameras which have interchangeable lenses and a higher range of configuration options (aperture, metering, etc) that DSLR's have.
my humble dua sen. |

Compare to G1 with no IS, this one got IS. I think Panasonic G1 no need to sell already.

Its based on micro 4/3 system, not a true SLR (no mirror to flex about). So the title is a bit misleading. It definitely has the modern meets retro feel to it. It will attract enthusiast, not sure about the consumers in general though. Don't think it will replace a true SLR or even a compact camera anytime soon though.

The ISO 3200 sample result looks amazing in DPReview... Arghhhh, seems the same as my E-420 ISO 800, and that's the max I would go with it...

LX3 plus 24mm f2.0 lens is only rm1500 and EP1 body + kit lens is rm2999 ..so LX3 still have their own market..

It's a micro four thirds camera. So four third sized sensor = quality like four third sized DSLRs.
You can change lenses but having multiple lenses defeats the purpose of having a compact. Although the lenses are smaller in size it is no less cumbersome to pack multiple lenses. One disadvantage is that the camera is unable to mount current four thirds lenses without the use of an adapter so you are basically starting off with a new system and have its own lenses to collect. I think at best it's gonna be a niche market appealing to techy gearheads rather than true photo enthusiast. |
