QUOTE(killdavid @ Oct 26 2009, 10:57 AM)
Hello everyone. I need some opinion. I have been on weight training using medium (10 -15 reps) and high reps (until exhaustion). I don't want to be a body builder or bulk up. The target physique is more like an endurance athlete. I am now considerably lean. My height is 165 cm and weight 59 kg (originally 61 kg).

Since started training 6 months back, I gained some muscle mass but all the while I did not change my diet. I am by nature a cautious eater avoiding junk food. But since the considerable progress, my body is starting to demand more food. I get hungry in between meals in my normal diet pattern. Should I give in and consume more ? I have yet to achieve my target of six packs abs ...now only 4 packs. I am worried that if i give in and increase diet intake it will go out of control. Oh, by the way my diet is 100% natural. I don't take supplements.

Any opinion ?

I don't see anything with consuming more... as a matter of fact, the rule of thumb is eat what you want but in small portions - in a more frequent basis.

I would suggest you snack on carrotts and turnips as these two has nearly 0% calory.

Sigh~

Once I stopped my strict diet previously I gained abt 4kg in just abt 1 year!!! Some of my pants can hardly fit me anymore cry.gif ppl have been telling me I got fatter and seriously, it got me thinking. So now have to beware of my food intake... instead of fried egg, take boiled egg, same goes to protein like chicken and all. Snack on fruits and nuts~ Have just enrolled myself to yoga lessons (psst fitness program too expensive), hopefully everything will work out and I m able to lose up to 6-8kg in several months' time (maybe 3 months?) doh.gif sounds unlikely tho!!!

I thought it's filled with fish fillet?

yong tau fu not that fattening if you go for the soup based with no fried stuffs (like the stuffed chili, white tofu etc). avoid fried brinjal bcoz it has a lot of oil (mostly absorbed inside)...

it's refine flour. Not just fish. If pure fish sure expensive. Not sure about calorie count though. There are more healthier choice out there

Weight losing pills usually bring side effect... What for when you can do it naturally (by exercising), and if you have no time, manage your diet well.

Exercise and diet are the most essential things to lose weights... If you fail this 2.... God bless you.

hi there, I need some advice on weight lose~
But the thing is, I'm a super busy little fat man,and have little time to spare to sleep... no need to say about exercising...

However, I do walk and climb stairs everyday... a lot~

Is there anyway to reduce weight base on my daily activity??? like cutting down on some food or so..

Weight now is 80kg and I wish to reduce to 65 kg in 3 months... and I'm only 167cm tall... T.T

I've heard a way that can control the storage of sugar and fat system by having many meals in a day... can any1 clarify that??? Thousand thx~~~

Controlling diet is easy.

Admitting that you are an emotional eater is a lot harder. A symptom of an emotional eater is that you aren't willing to cut down on foods that you know is bad for you.

If you eat too much refined carbs, you could be causing a strain on your arteries that over time, your health is not going to be that great when you older.

So the question is, do you want to do something about it now or would you rather wait until much later down the road (i.e. yearsssssssssss) where the damage cannot be fixed easily.

Take it from someone who thought losing 20 kg was easy and suddenly, had a slipped disc from not dealing with core issues in her life (family, money, etc.). In the last 2 months since I last confronted my issues and take decided steps to fix my health, I'm more energetic, my pain is a lot less, feeling better, etc. Also, 2 months after my injury, I can at least walk on a threadmill and do a mild hill version at 4.8 kmph without too much pain. smile.gif

It's a long road to recovery but getting there. But the first tough thing to swallow is that you let yourself get fat. Don't blame the food or anything else. It is you.

Then it's easy to start making the decision to fix you, your body and your life. Takes awhile but you got time. smile.gif

Takes guts to lose those guts, babe. tongue.gif

For those who are so worried about stomach bulges, do this exercise. It is harder than doing situps and crunches but it builds strong core muscles. It's also one of the known exercises for building a flatboard stomach.

It's an introduction to the birddog exercise i.e. it helps you to build enough strength on the hands and legs that you can finally do the birddog exercise.

Results. I think I reduce about nearly 2 inches around the waist and about the same amount near the hips. Still overweight but my body fat is going down and muscle mass is climbing.

So if a fat girl can do it, so can you guys. tongue.gif

BTW, I drink a lot of water to help with the body fat breaking down. Helps the liver out. wink.gif

If you're on a diet, and you have lets say a family buffet meal to attend, or friend's birthday party. Would you choose not to go, or go but don't eat? It's kind of hard to decide sometimes. And for me, it's hard to control. I hope someone could share some tips with me smile.gif
