yes, to buy a ball normally u choose 1 number heavier, let say u use number 13 ball, then u should buy a 14 pound ball,

but if ur playing hook is best to go for 14-15 pound ball

u wont feel the weight when u swing with ur own personal ball, because the hole will custom fit ur finger nicely

btw u shud tell them if those balls are reactive, urethane or plastic. this can show them that the likeliness of the ball hooking more. reactive better, urethane normal, plastic mainly for spares lo.
