QUOTE(suushi @ May 19 2009, 02:20 AM) yea, dog eat dog world. but there are a lot of them who go overseas and mix with malaysians, our culture kinda rubs off them and they end up being less kiasu. But their culture rubs off on us and i find that Malaysians tend to be a bit more kiasu when we're in a foreign(ie, better than Msia) country. |

QUOTE(hackwire @ May 19 2009, 12:27 AM) sgforums la QUOTE(Porkvocative @ May 19 2009, 12:28 AM) ur analogy too general. 1mill sg dollar isnt a big amount there. lol.there are many s'porean whom dont own a car and having more than 1mil sg dollar. there are also many malaysia who own luxury car and eat nasi lemak + roti canai everyday ... in the end ..can't pay loan and the car still kena tarik balik but yea, i see more and more malaysians now are kiasu. monthly income 3k. lifestyle like a CEO of a major company. |

kiasu also is one who is right even if he is wrong. and will do anything to maintain his "rightness".
the level of "maintenance" of being falsely right while actually wrong denotes the level of kiasuness, which is quite a lot and harmful to the situation - but the kiasu cannot or refuses to see this. this artificial situation isolates the kiasu but unfortunately that's how he likes it, because he knows he is wrong yet cannot admit it, even to himself. the phrase "the kiasu is strong with this one" varies but can only increase over time, as the kiasu "paint" himself into his own corner and up the wall...when one see him teetering, before one can ask, the kiasu replies, i love it!!! ktnxbai. |

black is white and white is black. only a kiasu can convince himself of this. the problem is the kiasu also everyone to agree. he simply refuses to be wrong, as if refusal is a form of rightness... bwhahahaha...!!!
