Overview:

SOCOM breaches onto the PS3 in high-definition with the ultimate next-generation online combat experience. SOCOM Confrontation focuses on online play and the global community and clans that support it. Factions:

There are different factions in this game. When creating a clan, the leader will choose a faction and the whole clan will be under that faction. Different Factions have different weapons and rank insignia.

Playable special operations forces teams:

o U.S.'s Navy SEALs
o U.K.'s Special Air Service (SAS)
o Germany's Kommando Spezialkräfte (KSK)
o Spain's Unidad de Operaciones Especiales (UOE)
o France's 1er Régiment Parachutiste d'Infanterie de Marine (1er RPIMa)

Weapons:

All weapons are already unlocked from the beginnning of the game. If you cant find the weapon then your in the wrong faction. List of all weapons and their specs:

Ranks:

Rank (the number that matches the symbol; right side of your insignia)

Can go up or down
o As far as we know right know this goes up based on a combination of games played and wins but could also factor in MVPs, etc..
o This goes down from early exits/disconnects and by quitting your clan or by not playing for a certain amount of time

*Note: MVP = Most Valuable Player awarded to the best player for each game.

Rating (the other number left side of your insignia)

Can only go up or to 0 but can’t lower to other levels

o This is based on your performance and not games played. It’s probably based on wins, kill-to-death ratio, MVP %, and hit %. You will notice that your friends with more wins, better K/D, MVPs will have a higher rating.
o Can go down only for quitting your clan or not playing for a while

Game Modes/Objectives:

Escort - Commando team must escort three (3) VIP's to one of the two extraction areas. Commandos win by extracting two VIP's or eliminating all of the Mercenaries. The Mercenaries win by eliminating the Commandos or VIP's.

Elimination - Just like the name says, the object is to eliminate the opposing team members. Whoever does that first wins. A tie occurs when players from both teams remain.

Extraction - The Mercenary team begins with three (3) hostages that they protect from the Commandos. The Commandos are responsible for rescuing at least two (2) of the hostages and extracting them safely to one of two extraction zones. The Mercenaries win by eliminating the Commandos. The Commandos win by extracting two (2) hostages, or eliminating the Mercenaries.

Demolition - In the center of the map, a bomb is placed and each team must retrieve the bomb and destroy the target of the opposing team. Either team wins by eliminating the other team, or planting and destroying the target.

Suppression - The ultimate team death match. Simple enough, the team that eliminates the other wins. Different from elimination in that if your team has more alive, you can still win.

Breach - The Commando team must destroy a target within Mercenary territory. They must breach walls blocking routes to the target and plant a bomb. The Seals win by destroying the target or eliminating all the Mercenaries. The Mercenaries win if the time runs out, they defuse a planted bomb or if they eliminate all the Commandos.

Control - Each team must try and mark five key points around the level. The team that controls all the points, controls more points when time expires or eliminates the other team wins the match.

This game has no tutorials. Its easy to pick up but hard to master. The ranked games have NO RESPAWN, so don't rush to your death and learn from veterans. When you die you can spectate others, this is a chance for you to watch and learn. This is a very TACTICAL game that depends on TEAMWORK and COMMUNICATION. To practice you can join the LYN clan practice games or join UNRANKED RESPAWN games. Its a good way to get a feel of the game controls and get used to the maps. If your the last man standing please at least die trying to GO FOR THE OBJECTIVES...or your team may vote kick you.

HOW TO JOIN CUSTOM GAMES (ACCEPT INVITES):

Go to the MAIN MENU --> COMMUNITY --> MESSAGES --> Click on invite message and ACCEPT --> Go Back to MAIN MENU --> BRIEFING ROOM --> SELECT CHANNEL --> Then select ANY CHANNEL (better to take same channel as friends)--> then click JOIN GAME.

Yes it seems hard but new 1.5 patch will allow players to join friends game via friends list.

Note:

This game has come along way. The reviews for the game are underwhelming. Its an Online only game and what happened was when it launched there were too many server problems. Players couldn't get into rooms, disconnections and it was very laggy when you were able to get in. This caused the game to get alot of criticism. However with the recent patches the game now works beautify. There is not much lag and a very smooth experience most of the time. To conclude i just want to mention that the game isn't the same one as when it launched and the reviews dont reflect how good the game is right now.

sorry lain dari COD...this is not run and gun...well unless ur REALLY GOOD or u have a death wish.

but it is a GREAT GAME. I cant stop playing it...infact im not in the mood to play anything but Socom. thats saying alot because i already got my copies of inFAMOUS and UFC.
