SB800 should be enough already, but if u got some big bucks, go straight for SB900.. but prepare for large space in ur bag, its huge..  laugh.gif

where can i get a new sb800? cause afaik it's impossible

sb600 with tripod shoud enough.. if budget matters, get nissin di622 or sunpak or falcon eyes with tripod.. nissin di622 have bigger head.can tilt up down, left right...besar mcm canon punye 580ex..lebih besar dari sb600..harga dalam RM 430-rm480.. if u used with D40, seems unbalanced lor.. kalau sb600 ok la.. hehe..di466 only can up down.. cannot left right..but small and portable.. also can be use in slave mode..i merely used my di622.. i lebih suke pakai di 466 sbb kecik dan most of them time i bounce ceiling shj..

The cloud type if I'm not mistaken is like the Stofen "tupperware" type which softens the light more. You may need to increase the flash compensation 1/3 or 2/3 stops sometimes to achieve the maximum effect.

Yea. I would want to try out the clear version if I have the chance.

But I think there's another type of flash diffuser. Much more smaller and it's something like a cap on top of the flash head. I prefer that more.

For D40 and D5000 users,

how do you change aperture and shutter in Manual mode? I assume since you have the back dial, you can change shutter easily. In order to change aperture do you have to go in to the menu to change what the back dial changes or in the menu you can directly select the aperture hmm.gif ?

You know near the shutter click, there's Info and also the +/- button. Hold it and use the back dial to change. I hope you get what I mean. (:

yeah tilt upwards..but it wont be like this right.. this f58 has full 90/45 deg flash to the subject.

if like sb900/sb600 if portrait shot and want to bounce have to do like this and takes time to adjust2 the white card each time change from portrait to landscape shot.

Best way is to add a diffuser. Light will be softer but you may have to adjust the flash compensation from time to time.
