Actually, the extra manuals are just us trying to get back at those not-friendly customer service boys. So we asked for ridiculous stuff for free like 5 issues of NikonPRO mags, brochures of all Nikon DSLR Nikon ever released, phone numbers of Nikon Regional manager and his son's, customer service head manager crap this and that .... we were "angry b****es" back then tongue.gif And we got them all except the manager son's number.
I own a D90 (January) and a D700 (June). We just love snappin photos smile.gif

thanks for the opinions guys.. btw, most of u guys here got the big2 sb900 ..

just wanna ask, if landscape easy to bounce flash indoors. Tilt the flash upwards & just open up the built in white card. So no shadows under eyes & chins.

If in portrait how do u guys do ceiling bounce + white card bounce? u guys use demb diffuser or other methods that are easier etc?

i always use diffuser...tilt it and i still get my fill flash. If u say without diffuser...then u have to DIY a bounce card.

u mean the included built in diffuser of the sb900 right?

u use that and tilt it to get ceiling bounce and fill flash right?

i've tried on a sb600 before and some shots are underexposed because the ceiling bounce light going upwards are diffused and thus it's not strong enough..the fill flash is okay but ceiling bounce is not so good.

@machinetosh : caaannnnn .. you can hold my shopping bags and sing Lady Gaga on my order! tongue.gif
@jsc_tidus : thats the spirit!!

Hmmmm ... why would you pre-diffuse the light before bouncing it ??
The idea behind bouncing the flash from another surface is in fact TO DIFFUSE the light and break up the intensity of the light.
By bouncing the light away from the subject, you are already almost doubling the distance that the light travels. This may/surely cause the camera to underexpose slightly. So if it does you can either up the FEC +/- (flash exposure compensation) by 1 or 2 stops to increase the power output, or do the same with the camera's exposure compensation to let in more light.

Yeah i know..but your way has a problem in which the speedlight uses more power..and thus reduces batt life much faster for numerous shots like that.

the other option I have is to use something like a Lightsphere diffuser that wont diffuse the light the goes to the ceiling but only diffuses the light going all around.

anybody tried DEMB or Lightsphere kind of diffusers on SB900?

My way ? Hihihihi sweetheart ... i presented you with camera/flash-only facts, on the go, on the fly. Although, im kinda wondering how come "my way" uses more power when "my way" does not pre-diffuse a bounce-to-be light when your way seems to diffuse the light first then bounce ?
Then again, if you would like to add a bunch of additional equipments to "maintain battery life", then you should do that. I guess my way is to make sure enough supplies of rechargeables tongue.gif
Less is more.
