Hey there, i m on SEG 1.6 M and now using 195/55/15 sport rims with Dunlop Formula D01...

previously on stock rims 185/65/14 ( think) and yokohama S306

changed to dunlop due to s306 making me VERY VERY paranoid in wet conditions....

s306 nice 2 skid/slide in d dry though controllable slide....

dunlop is on rails in dry but once traction breaks threes NO control

dunlop is much better in wet with a pretty good price 2 years back.

its time to change and i am looking for comfort + quiet + good wet handling.

Please recommend choices and price.

not into spirited driving

To all the sifu out there,

I'm currently using michelin XM1 size 195/60/15 for my civic 1.7. The tyre start giving me the humming sound after 2 years using it and it doesn't work well anymore in wet condition although the thread still alot. Maybe it start to hardening already.

Any recommendation for me? I'd like quite and comfort tyre. Can you please list down few option for me to choose and also where to get the cheapest.

Thanks in advance. Hope to hear from all the sifu out there soon.

Good Day,
I would like to share some experience of my own. I been using few brands of tyres in market such as TOYO, YOKOHAMA, MICHELIN , GOOD YEAR, BRIDGRESTONE , SIME TYRES , etc. I'm a hardcore driver and heavy user too. Currently, i owned 2 cars, Daily transportation PROTON WAJA CAMPRO 1.6E, year 2007 and NISSAN SENTRA 1.8 XG-L, year 2007 too.

From all the ranges of tyres i only satisfied with only 1 brand and still stick to it even after i been changing more than 20 ++ tyres now for 2 years time. A year at least 8 nos of tyres due to my works that requires me to travel frequently outstation. Normally, for 10'000 km driving milleage is within 30 - 40 days only .

The brand i would like to recommend here is CONTINENTAL COMFORT CONTACT-1, the thread is thick and it works perfectly on dry and wet conditions. Tyres changing interval expected for hardcore user is at least 40,000 km plus if only you take care of the allignment and tyres pressure. Well, the most important is this tyres is cheaper and durable too. I been loyalty choosing this brand because it always up to my requirement no matter i'm cruising like a mad man even during heavy downpour too especially in Highway.

Only , tyres shop wouldn't recommend this type of tyres because of its unique characteristics of the tyres. The new tyres during the first 10'000km not comfort and you shall feel the allignment is disoriented no matter how you balance up the allignment , etc but later it works perfectly 100%.

Now, both of my car i'm using exactly the same type of tyres CONTINENTAL COMFORT CONTACT - 1.

Market price for 195/55/R15 should be from RM 150 - 180 per pc.

GOOD LUCK thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

1st of all this is not a Tire discussion thread... 2ndly CC1 is only for Entry level... it is nothing compare to UHP tires... for 195/55 R15 u can get Hankook V12 that beats CC1 easily... at RM180/pc
FYI CC1 have sidewall bulging issues also according to some ppl... am using 1 set on my old toy... 185/60 R14 i can feel the body roll when doing a high speed corner... i drive from USJ3 to Shah Alam Sec22 McD to work... using federal highway... like bro mffa said... if you really feel CC1 is good... then u aren't any hardcore driver... sorry to say...
try to use V12 or PP2 or T1R or RE001 or S Drive or even AD08... then u will know what is grip... smile.gif
when i'm using PP2 i drive around NSE at 120~140km/h even during raining, visibility was not more than 100 meter... it cuts thru puddle of water efficiently...
