Hey there... i found out a problem quite long ago but i didn't care it... now its getting really annoying coz i cannot identify what file is that when the icons all are IE icons... example:

They are folders and avi video but all shows IE icon... no matter .exe, .jpg, .avi, .mpg and so on... all shows IE icon...

I tried to fix it with TweakUI but the problem still comes back... TweakUI fixed it but only for awhile then the problem comes back again...

IE7 bug

two way to fix:
1. don't use large icon size
2. edit the icon size to 47 if you still want it to be big
SpIcYjOe
but i only can resize to 48x48...

EDIT: nvm i found it.... but correct me if i am wrong... right click -> properties -> Appearance -> Advanced -> Icon -> 47
fariz
right click desktop > properties > 'appearance' tab > 'advanced' button
item > icon > size > type '47' > ok > ok

if you change theme, you need to do it again..

they haven't fix this bug since IE7 was released
SpIcYjOe
ok... i will....

Man microsoft are like huge company that made a whole OS from ground zero and they cannot fix a simple icon bug???? do you think anyone reported this bug yet?
fariz
I did find a lot of posts about it in Microsoft Discussion Group

well M$ should just take note of this... its really annoying...

But another possibility that M$ doesn't wants to care about this matter coz they want people to upgrade to vista? lol

found another solution for this bug biggrin.gif

if you have a cd/dvd burner, right click on the drive > properties
'recording' tab > deselect 'enable cd recording on this drive'

this will disable XP native CD/DVD burning interface, but you can still burn using 3rd party burning software (nero, ashampoo)

with this fix, you can select 'use large icons'

tested biggrin.gif
