I just involve in stock market few months , currently holding Airasia when bought at 0.91 . Just want to know , if we are 1 of the share holder of any company , can we enjoy any benefit from the company(beside dividen) such as product discount coupon , free coupon , free gift ?

Think of it this way. If you invest in a company or has a non-executive directorship in the company, what are the benefits that you would get?
Dividend is just a form of "remmuneration" to you. You do not get "freebies" as this is not circus
Imagine the company having SO many minority shareholders, if give coupons of RM100 each also the company will have some problems
Do any of the directors get "freebies"? Think as an owner and not a guest.

EDIT: Other benefits are, you have the right to vote in the Annual General Meeting and the Extraordinary General Meeting, right to receive bonus issues, rights to subscribe to any rights issues, rights to subscribe in the subsidiary's listing.

At AGM, not only you get to vote, you get free meal too!

How to know where and when is the AGM or any others meeting in any company ?

With one lot of air asia. You stakes probably is about 0.000001% The employee inside probably have a lot more than you.... to be directorship your stakes is talking about millions or billions of shares lol

Berjaya usually give buy 1 free 1 coffee Starbucks voucher which are pretty useless.

normally give u 1 deluxe room voucher every year
beside room voucher still got other vouchers like dicount on food and beverage, themepark buy 1 free 1 voucher

going AGM get freebie lo....
besides u will get annual report each year.

lol in a way it is sort of return for ur investment too..i am holding both genting n resorts shares thus i got 4 set of vouchers, then i sold it for RM50 each

went for the latest Klccp agm around last month... sadly... no mandarin hotel meal vouchers.. but the food after the AGM was good.

went also for Air Asia Agm... n this year, shareholders who attended the AGM got a return air ticket.... The food I would say.... "LCC"

Qsr..the door gift were KFC vouchers RM10 x 2...(but theres no meal at the AGM, just coffee)

Last year LTKM (2nd Board selling eggs) Door gift were a dozen eggs but the biggest size my wife said..the food was fine

at genting indoor theme park early this year ..did buy some vouchers from someone who got it from their AGM.... must be one of u guys...heh heh...

walau...they will send you the annual report (in hardcopy or CD format).
At there you will know the AGM date.

You guys should check out Berkshire Hathaway's AGM.

They had Arnold Schwarzenegger perform an acting role in a short film they played at the beginning for all the shareholders.
Even Bill Gates was there to make a speech and do the opening.

In 2006 they had a panel of judges that ranked Snoop Dogg as their next acquisition target.

Pretty sick performances for a shareholder meeting.

This year IOI corp gave meal voucher for RM25.00 expiring 31 dec 2008.
