Hi members,
I'm thinking to replace my Persona stock HU to the Alpine CDA-9884E. Budget is around RM1k or below and so far the specs of the 9884E seems ok to fulfill my requirement. Anyone has experience using this model?
Before I visit the shops to get this model, would appreciate if members can advise some alternative brand/models at around this budget for my consideration as I'm new to ICE. Sound quality from playing CD is my piority.
As for speakers, will use stock one first after upgrade HU and decide later. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the replies!
No doubt I've heard a lot of the impressive 9887, but the 9884 will be sufficient to satisfy my needs and moreover I have set a budget of RM1000 max. Was tempted to go for the 9886 at additional RM200 plus for extra features like remote control and biolite display, but then again.. it's over my budget
Any members currently using the 9884 do let me know your views and appreciate any suggestion for alternative similar priced player if any.. cheers!

i suggest u save a little more and longer....go for the ultimate HU...i would readily go for Alpine 9887
in terms of difference...of coz pairing with stock speakers has its limitation but its definitely going to change the SQ
however do bear in mind, the source u use is also important
if u use such good HU only to play pasar malam mp3, then wats the point?
its just like ppl ask me whether my Alpine F1 can play mp3...my question is....should i?
