ok guys, after click on the link a both, let's us talk about the fix firmware which is 2.41.

i have been install this 2.41 firmware a few days ago. and after that i found out that the movie clip that i have download is keep on crashing! or the playback is keep on hanging.

And last night when i download some more movie clips, the PS3 is hang up for few times and finally it hangs on the startup! right after the words 'sony' appear, it wont be able to access in the XMB menu.

so is 2.41 really fix the 2.40 problem?

and anyone of you have facing the same problem?

and is there any solution that can skip the formatting progress?

oh yah, mine is the 60GB asian version.

i read from other's forum... mostly happen to my model. 40GB and 80GB new model so far no one have problem with it.

a so call high end product form sony.....

mine one is 40gb region 3....after updated to 2.41.....got few times my sixaxis cant pair with my ps3......so it force me to use USB cable to connect the controller and console for gameplay......but later.....it paired out of the box..... i wonder is the firmware 2.41 got problem or my bluetooth hardware got problem..

me got pairing problem too but occur when i boot from linux to Game OS.. need to shutdown then on again then pairing OK. btw, mine is 40GB asia

So far mine no pob.. 80GB US version....

So far so good, except the first reboot after updating when the system hanged. After that no more problems with my 40GB Asian unit.

mine just auto sign out by psn.show error

ok guys, please let me know how long you have been update to this 2.41 firmware and been use for how long yah.

i havent update my PS3 since i got MGS4... i dunno the impact and i havent even try going online since i got it..

for games... i don see there is any improvement from 1.01 till now.

just add on this and that and create a lot of BUGS.

yeah as me from day 1 2.41 release... so far ok lor.. .. hope 2.5 firmware. more stable then this.... 2.40 firmware got number "sial" so cant do anything.. ... ( no4 very bad la.. )

Mine if 40GB... 2.41 don't seem to give me any problems... download almost everything... and nothing happen...

mine has no crshing problems . .. 40gb australian set .

mine 40gb Japan set no problem with 2.41...so far la.....

mine 40gig ps3 also no prob so far. only take a while to load psn store sometimes

I crash once when viewing youtube with 2.41,probably cause i open too many youtube window to load that time.
So far haven't experience the 2nd times...

Sometime it kinda lag when i have to check PSN friend msg while playing.

The lag becoz our Malaysian BerukBand TMNUT Snailmyx.. not firmware.. prob.... ... monopoly suk....

mine 80GB asia V. i download 2.40 no problem at all.....2.41 same...everything work fine

so far 2.41 is running stable on 40gb version
well at least mine has no problem YET

Both of my US 80 GB and also a Asian 60 GB....updated to 2.41...

Both working perfectly....BD and games got no issues. Even Linux boothing and also AVCHD Disc booting....All kowtim....

Have you tried changing your HDD....as I've read that it might be due to bad HDD...


Try first then tell us the outcome....

HDD detectable in PC. but i didnt reformat it yet. cuz thinking of some solution to get the content... cuz it is in linux format so windows can read it.

my ps3 never crash since i stop folding a long time ago.

but net browser still often very slow and non-responsive so not ideal to use it.

I'm using the 60GB version. So far no problems.

my ps3 experience crashing few times ald in last few days...have to restart then it's normal back...tonite worse, restart few times...updated 2.41 since 1st day, now onli got prob...not sure if its 2.41 which cause it sigh

now my PS3 need to to replace with a new hdd... it looks like the firmware have destroy the HDD...

the performance is like the HDD is not been proper defrag.... need more time to search or seek for the disk....

after replace a new HDD it's ok, but after copy some movie's to the HDD it started to be a bit of lagging again... aih...

now worst, i cant update the firmware to 2.42.. keep on failing. if download from internet, the PS3 cannot detect the firmware.... strange....

already update to 2.42...so far no probs occured...hopefuly it stays dat way...cheers mate...

finally updated to 2.42, and it is improving a lot.

solve the lag menu problem and also the movie clip's that i have donwload is now working great.
