I am planning to get one guys. IS the nano user friendly? any other minor problem? I asked my friend just now about nano. which he is currently using. He told me that he will prefer to go for creative than nano. he said nano is overpriced plus function very normal only. Is there any of you connect ur nano to ur car?

If you want just interface looks good go for it. But if you want better features , value for money and better sound quality forget about ipod. I agree with you its kinda overprice.
You need the Ipod adapter to use in the car thats what the shop told me. My player its IPOD READY wow i like that line so i need add RM 800 for it to work.


The stock earphone really very terrible to my ears i end up need spend few hundred to make it sound good. Other players like SONY , creative or samsung their stock earphone already good but getting a better earphone improves it further

THERE IS A LOGO SAYING MADE FOR IPOD BUT I NEED SPEND ANOTHER RM800 FOR IT TO WORK

Love my nano! its the only device that can keep my sanity in this mad mad world! If it wans't for this nifty little gadget, my daily 40 minute commute would drive me clinically insane. To me, the main strength of the nano is built around the portability factor.

IMHO,

+ points:
-very portable (have u tried stuffing a microsoft zune or ipod classic in your jeans pocket along with your keys, handphone, etc!?)
-small video screen (but good quality resolution) just nice during a train/lrt/bus commute. Also, can you find anything else that is video capable for something that small?
-higher capacity compared to other "small" DAPs
-super slim and sexy with a brushed aluminium backing.
-good interface (click wheel=sweet!)
-easy to use
-feature packed for a player of its size

- points:
-iTunes can be a bit fiddly for the uninitiated.
-Scratch prone (especially the brushed aluminium backing)= gotta invest in screen n back protectors or casings
-hangs at times (happened to me 3 times in the past 5 months)
-if you're a video lover, stay away, you'd be better of with larger screens (zune, ipod classic, etc)


Ditch the stock earphones, it sucks and gets busted easily, that happened to my friend. She bought 3 new orignal apple earphones since she had her ipod. The ipod nano is expensive compared to other players in the market. But after you buy and enjoy it, you will know where your extra money went to! Sound quality is good enough for me. Wish my nano had nuclear powered batteries, then i wouldnt need to charge it that often!

I dunno tis is for me my ears actually hurts you can feel your ear pain and when the song have treble and bass all you hear is like broken speaker sound. I also was like you thought everyone saying apple apple apple apple thats the reason i tried it. To be honest to you there is nothing to WOW about except the interface. For the price of RM800 you can get a SONY or SAMSUNG ENABLE mp3 player and buy a AD2P bluetooth earphone and they come with many additional features like voice recording better EQ.

Oh yea Ipod nano EQ sux as well. To resolve the ipod nano problem above just replace the earphone it will sound better.

Changing the internal batteries it will cost like 100 above

or u can buy those FM transmitter that connect to ur ipod and uses the FM receiver in ur radio to receive it, those receiver which are ipod ready cost cheaper (ranging from 50-300+) if u comparing to changing ur car's player

or u can wait for those shop to have promotion, i last time saw the promotion on some newspaper a Kenwood with ipod ready, promotion drop till RM300+, not sure bout the details of that model

I suggest you change your car player to 1 that is ipod ready.

Yes Sir, the reason why the light stays because its detected as a removable drive.

Install Itunes from apple website
Plug your ipod nano via cable to your usb port.
then go to devices option after the pc detects your nano

TOp it shows your ipod information
second shows version
THIRD shows option : at option either untick all then press sync.

After it sync it should disconnect automatically. After awhile the screen will turn off and it is still charging


You think u had a good deal my friend bought a Ipod 8GB from pcfair for RM 450 with Free Schnieser MX400 earphone+ wallplug charger as promotion price.

he got 8gb nano and with free headphone!!!that is somehow a good deal!!!

guys, i have a question here...we sync everything to our ipod. Isnt possible to extract those thing out from our ipod to our computer?

it is possible, using third party software, forgoten the names thou, try search around the forum, they discuss this more than once

3rd gen is ugly!
and 1st gen nano can run with ipodlinux
u can play counter strike with it

i prefer 3rd gen than 1st and 2nd.

I think 1st and 2nd is ugly. Long and big. The 3rd gen so small and cute.

haha lucky i am not like u. I didnt bother spend on mac just because of flying animation. I pay if it can fulfills all my needs

i dont spend on mac just because of flying animation too... mac are the replacement for my broken pc, and as well as the new field for me to learn in computing, i dont just buy because it is "cool" or "better than Windows"... i still need windows thou, most program i using need windows

anyway, i like all generation of ipod nano , each has their characteristic, like 2nd gen has strong color, while 3rd gen has larger and better screen, 1st gen are classic like for iPod, it looks like the iPod Classic

is there anybody put the protective film on their ipod???
I initially put it on my ipod and i realized that I din placed it right and so it have some air at the corner.I tried to squeeze the air out but it doesnt work...I tried taking it off and placed it back accurately...but it still some air at the corner or i should say that part is not really stick to the screen

It can be air or oil. Try wipe it clean then only stick.
I dont use any protective cover.

I use my X3i box to keep my earphone and ipod inside

Protective film is important. Instead of using those expensive types of screen protectors, you can use a cheaper alternative: handphone screen protectors. It works just as good, if not better. Find a big size screen protector (PDA size shud be safe) and cut to shape!

To remove air bubbles,use a soft cloth to rub out the air bubbles. Works for me. As a last resort, poke a hole in the air bubble to let out the air. Just be careful tho, dont scratch ur screen!

try search for yamipod, or google around for more application to transfer songs

well i have applied Best Skin Ever on my nano, full body shield

when u applying protecting film u can use a card (credit card like) to squeze out the air. after the protective film stick it will be very hard to take the air out.

Is there any diff between those cheaper china transmitter with those official brands from apple such as belkin, iluv and more? Those are expensive but just wan to know the diff. A wired transmitter better or a wireless wan is better?

No matter what your brand u buy the quality will be radio quality. if u really wanna fully utilize it upgrade your car audio tat support ipod adapter.

well, I bought this from Yahoo Japan auction site, recently.
I was targetting the red one(Apple Store original colours)... but the price is usually goes to 25000 yen...


my old iPod nano 2GB 1st Gen was broken (the rolling touchpad?) when I accidently left it in my car for days in the 35 degrees summer days...


I also found my new nano in danger too, after having it jammed when I was in my lab. the song I'm listening suddenly stopped, and I cannot change the display.

I was so in despair, as for the next 2-3 days I cannot find a way how to fix it.

then, I realized one of the possibilities that cause this.. As I listening to the music in high mode (lol), I didnt realize my sempai was turning on the plasma machine 4-5 meters from my left... and the high electromagnetic field has jammed my nano.


Luckyly, after a few days.. it turns back normal, again.. (phew) and I swear to be more cautious to my surrounding when listening to the iPod.




yes.. beware of the electromagnetic field places when you're using ur iPod or electronic devices..

just a quick one, my cable unable to charge my ipod nano. but try at the shop with their cable, it can be charged. does the USB 2.0 cable come with warranty? 3 months or 1 year?
