e.g. LG, Panasonic, Hitachi, Electrolux, Samsung, Haier

Which brand do you recommend?
Preferably a durable and long lasting fridge... oh yeah, and also affordable...

Long lasting ah, Kelvinator, Maytag.

I think most refrigerator's today are pretty 'long lasting' tongue.gif

Found a survey done by JD Power and seems Samsung is the best choice for Refrigerator

Survey Link

Samsung.
shadowz
*shrugs* I use a Electrolux and it is okay. I think any fridge you get can work well for at least 5-10 years if not longer so long as it is well taken care of. I don't recommend fridges with fancy ice and water dispensers though as it seems to require more maintanence.

Otherwise, get a fridge with long warranty and option to renew if necessary.
johnsonm
maytag has to be the best at the moment. kelvinator is now made in australia, so for those who are looking for a made in the USA fridge they might want to stick with maytag. electrolux is always reliable. i don't trust sharp, samsung etc. too new in the market.
tinkerbel
@johnsonm,
The new fridge mom purchased when we shifted a couple of years ago seems to be working fine by me; it's a Samsung btw - except we don't quite like the side by side doors; maybe we just don't know how to utilise space but we find it not spacious enough tongue.gif
hanif444

LG got nice look...
Samsung value for $
Panasonic made in m'sia...
Sharp also good...
tinkerbel
@hanif444,
Er I hope U aren't talking about that LG model that can double up as a mirror + has 'fake' diamonds on its fridge panel.... that's just so..... so...... wannabe!!! *grins*

Anyone has experience using Mitsubishi refrigerator? is it good? I am thinking to buy a 3-Door Bottom Freezer (http://www.melcosales.com.my/refrigerator.htm).
satriaguy
I am looking to buy a new refrigerator, have been survey few brand, I like the LG desgin but it didn't stated energy saving, the only fridge that claims save energy is Sharp, Hitachi and Panasonic

Sharp - Claim can save up to 25% of electricity bill via their advanced compressor in the fridge
Hitachi - Claim can save up to 15% of energy through "minus-zero" technology
Panasonic - Inverter technology, can save energy

Which brand is better deal ? the price for Sharp and Hitachi is quite similiar but Panasonic is more pricey.

Based on the spec. Look like Sharp can save the "most" electricity, anyone use Sharp here, can you share your view, can it really save that much ? Thanks
king_eric
am also on the lookout for fridge as well. moving into new house pretty soon wink.gif
I must thank you for the above info... with the recent global financial crisis, expenditure(electricity bill) must be really thought through for these purchases..

how about the warranty period ? would that be a good deciding factor for you?

awaiting some sifu's advices yah ...

??!!
Re electricity saving features, there's a sticker with TNB certification or something like that stuck on the fridge model when we see the fridges on display at the shops.

I just bought the Toshiba http://www.toshiba.com.my/product/product_...id=GR%20YG73MDA
...it was like an impulse purchase, fell in love with the tempered glass front, real sleek looking
