i dont know if u all already know about this, just to share my findings here..

maybe a lot of u guys know the over the ear method to decrease microphonics..the one that loop the wire over your ears?well, this method have some flaws:
1)some iem are designed for normal wearing method.thus, users will be having difficulties to insert it into their ears using this method.
2)this method can loosen the connection between wires and the drivers of some iems, due to the wire tension.

and i found an alternative way, that is to LOOP THE WIRE AROUND YOUR NECK.
with this u don't have to deal with all the trouble of inserting iem to ur ears..and more convinient than over the ear method. rclxms.gif

yeah ... what is microphonics (especially in the context of earphones) ? rclxub.gif

aizen
microphonics is the unpleasing sound that results from rubbing the wire of iem onto clothes,skin,etc..well maybe this is not so correct term for that unpleasing sound, but most of people on the headfi use this term to describe it..it is actually due to vibrations from the wire rubs on ur skin,clotes,etc..this vibration transmitted by the wire to ur ears..this vibration can be absorbed by ur skin,as long as it is stationary and did not rub eachother..thats why people loop the wire over their ear/neck so that the vbration could be stopped/terminated..our ear/neck skin acts as damper in this case..

wow ... u in-ear-phone group of users are very serious about good sound too! ..

Respect!

another easier way, try to use ur IEM wif a cloth clip. If not mistaken, mylar comes wif cloth clip, rite? It works very well, at least on me.
aizen
i dont really like to use the cloth clip coz there's still much microphonics( in my opinion)..and sometimes the clip gets stucked,or when u accidentally rub the clip with something, the microphonics are even crazier.
