How can I change the default action of like double-clicking a downloaded file?

I want it to immediately open rather than show me properties

in options>downloads tab>UNTICK "show start download dialog" and "show finish download dialog"

I think that's something else.

speaking of which, why is idm one of the most popular? it seems to lack a lot of user control/gui customization.

what does it have over flashget/orbit/getright?

it starts to download even before u save it(good for ppl who dl lots of small stuff)
connects to servers very fast, 4 by 4, which wont make the servers kick u like flashget
and also u have the option of rightclick>download flv (not sure if others got, didnt mind check ;p)
and also the rebuild is much better coz i have never gotten a corrupted file so far from IDM, even though a little slower rebuild
but flashget, which gave me 56/500 files corrupted.. but flashget is free!


these are all the things i can think of! but i used flashget quite a long time ago so not sure if it has gotten better

Use Orbit downloader...

for me, IDM have a very constant speed when downloading something. i only use flashget and IDM before.. IDM is better, speed higher and more constant.

but the way to manage download , i prefer flashget. but speed always comes 1st. haha
