I've been using FF3 since day 1 it launched and found that occasionally, every few days, it'll crash on me and close and say a report need to be send to FF to determine the error. I was having no such problem with FF2 b4 on Vista. Anyone encountered this?
CZero
Well yeah, my FF3 will sometimes crash, but it's until I found out that I'm using the Beta one. doh.gif

@matrix : try reinstall it. Or maybe it has something to with your plugin?
Iskandar Zulkarnain
I have yet seen a sudden crash while using Firefox 3.

Still waiting for my old plugins to be updated though.
kelvin13

I am using the full version, in fact, latest one, 3.01 or something after the official launch. I don't have a lot of plug-ins...only flashget.

I'll try that and see...

This same issue also plagues me.....

My FF3 crashes averagely 3-4 times a week. Though ive come to live with it. The restore session function saves me alotta hassle.

using FF3 on vista here..no probs @_@
omnimech
using ff3 with loads of plugins on a ori 64 bit win vista ultimate

so far no problems.
jolmy
Using Firefox 3 since RC1 days.

RC2/RC3 is actually the build of the official 3.0 release and have since updated to 3.01.

Never experience any crash problem since using RC1 until now 3.01. and I am using Vista 32-bit (Business) with 4 Add-ons (adblock plus, fireftp, extended copy menu and DownThemAll).

Perhaps it could be the addons you are using, or a corrupted profile when upgrading from Firefox 2 to Firefox 3.

In my case, I created a new profile when switching to Firefox 3. You may try to do so, but advisable to backup your bookmarks and import it to your new profile in Firefox 3.

I've been using Firefox 3 since the beta versions & don't have any crash problems but my Vista always crashes when playing mp3 & videos. Maybe the problem you're refering to is Vista's & not firefox's
dopodplaya
refer to Firefox's bugzilla entries, there might be a similiar bugpost just like yours.

I used to have this frequent crash, especially when i have open up loads of tabs(and window(s)). Error about DEP.. don't remember. After searching a bit, found out have to update the flash player(have to get the flash10 beta version). After installing it, it reduce(or no crashes at all since, my memory is weak tongue.gif).

Get it here.
http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer10.html

But you have to uninstall the old version first.. get the uninstaller here.

I suggest that thread starter and others who experienced frequent Firefox 3 crashes on Vista should list their installed add-ons.

As for me, I don't even remember when my FF3 crashed. *Maybe* it has never crashed on me. Anyway, let me start first:

Theme: CrystalFox Modern

Add-ons:
Adblock Plus
Download Statusbar
Download Helper
Flashgot
Flagfox
StumbleUpon

All my machines have 2GB RAM. So that is not an issue. Furthermore, i'm not the type that opens 30 windows simulataneously. Safari seems more stable to me now. Maybe I'll need to re-install the old Firefox 2 and see...damn...i think i've deleted my old versions already....sad.gif

Certain software cannot work with if the system was installed with Firefox 3. I know two software don't support in Firefox 3. Can't remember the name. Sometime, it could be some Windows updates that causing the problem.

But if you run Firefox 3 in Vista without the other conflicted software, it should working fine.
fatalkeyv
try disabling AVG safe search add ons(if u have one) and see if it still crashes.

my desktop pc also got this problem,i think you need to wash ur pc abit

try add ons like no script, recommended for blockking untrusted content
soulfly
not only in vista.... it also crashes often on my xp
after disabling a few plugins seems good so far
riku2replica
the real player plug in is not supported by ff3.

Hmmm....I've the following ANTI stuff installed:
Karsperksy Antivirus 2009.
Spybot search and Destroy.

Could these be giving it problems?

Anyway, these last week seems to be a lot less problem...beats the crap outta me...maybe some updates or flashget updates fix the problem??
