Instructions by Maverick Wil (POST)

1. Is your iPhone jailbroken? If Yes, proceed to 2. If No, check 1A.

2. Download the "Default.phoneformat" file : [attachmentid=690865]

Alternative links : link 1 - frank8, link 2 - icebrew, link 3

3A. Download winscp for windows, cyberduck for mac
( http://winscp.net/, http://cyberduck.ch/Cyberduck-3.0.1.dmg )

4. Transfer the "Default.phoneformat" you just downloaded into your iPhone directory under " /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/AppSupport.framework/ " using any relevant SSH clients.

Optional : Backup the original "Default.phoneformat" file in that directory first if you want to but it is not necessary.

5. Close the SSH program. Reboot your phone.
- Manual way : Hold on the iphone power button until a slider comes up, slide to off. Push power to on again.
- Automated : Using bossprefs or sbsettings press power and press reboot.

Install OpenSSH on your iPhone using Cydia the same way everyone else does. The on your Mac, download either Fugu or Cyberduck from the following links and use it the same way WinSCP works in the tutorial above. Good luck! smile.gif

http://rsug.itd.umich.edu/software/fugu/fi...2.0-English.dmg
http://cyberduck.ch/Cyberduck-3.0.1.dmg

P.S. Hey Wah Kit, remember me? Tim from Elecom? Glad to see you here, mate. happy.gif Great tutorial

Hi guys!

Was so happy that the devteam released pwnage yesterday. The apps are really fun and all that. However, phone numbers are showing up instead of contact names again.

And since the iWorld or some kind of appsupport patch is not out yet, I am wondering if anyone here ever patched appsupport themselves before? If possible, can anyone supply the xmls for Malaysia numbers?

Thanks!

Updated with Instructions! (thx siawgu for d patch)

Instructions :
(Download the attached zip file)
1. Open Cydia, select All Packages, Download OpenSSH.
2. Restart iPhone. Make sure wifi is on and connected to local router.
3. Go settings > Wi-Fi > Your connected router (Select the round arrow beside it)
4. Find the Ip address. Copy it down.

8. username : root, password : alpine
9. Use winscp/cyberduck, go to "/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/AppSupport.framework"
10. Unzip the file you just downloaded, and replace that file in the directory.
11. Restart iphone. Done!

Guys, a Windows version of what? An SSH client? That'll be WinSCP as mentioned in the first post.

As for the .plist, THAT'S the only version there is. All you have to do is upload it to the right directory in your phones, no editing or amendments required wink.gif

do you backup'ed your original plist? make sure it do..

The iPhone will jump back to your Homescreen is becos the plist is not readable or corrupted.
maybe you try to reupload the plist to the directory and reset your iPhone.. That's what i did.
gengstapo
i found after upload the edited .plist, need reboot manually & not from ssh command. else it wont works.

this happen to me, dunno for the rest smile.gif
siawgu
I think should be no problem i oredi unlocked 3 iPhones to 2.0 and uploaded this plist.. and it works..

In Installer,

1. Add http://installer.iClarified.com to your Sources list, then refresh.

2. Under the new "iClarified" category, select and install the AppSupport Patch (1.1.4).

3. Reboot your phone and DONE! rclxm9.gif

i suggest dont delete/ replace. just rename the ori PhonenumberTemplates.plist with .bak extinction or anything u like
then, copy/ upload the modified PhonenumberTemplates.plist to the correct folder

ps: if anything gone wrong, u still can restore the ori PhonenumberTemplates.plist smile.gif IMO

err... my iPhone 3g is unlocked by default, and I jailbroken ever since the pwnage tool is there.

i'm not using appsupport atm, coz i'm still in NZ, no problem with caller id thingy smile.gif

stringfellow
Those who want to maintain the virginity of their iPhone 3G, you will have to do it the hard way: re-edit all your contacts to add +6 at the front of all their numbers to have their numbers displayed as names. This may be unconventional to some, but to me, it is normal. I have almost as many local Malaysian contacts as I have international ones.

And my Aifontriji keep its butt cherry and its vaginal hymen at the same time too. biggrin.gif
baretta
Long live virgin iphone..hehehehehh
goldieboy
refer to stringfellow post, you also can add-in the same number under the same contact. eg. Ah Beng Mobile +6012xxxxxxx and mobile (012)xxxxxxx.

hmm doesnt seem to work for me. i tried copying the plist into the directory, then i restarted my iphone and i cant seem to get into my SMS. when i recopy back the original plist into the directory everything works again. i tried redownload TS plist, and recopy it again (more than 10 times now) and still facing the same problem. any1 can help?
