guys i planning to buy a ps3 at Singapore, the thing i wan to ask is is there fake lens ps3 on the market now? this matter really make me worry. As the price i got from Singapore is only RM1050 40gb set ps3. Do u think this is the fake lens ps3. Please let me know, i really appreciate.

Normally in Singapore it's not fake lens. They will start off with very low price and then say doesn't include GST and credit card charges plus u will have to buy additional games at normal price. Some more they will say it's region coded and u have to buy different set which is region free and u end up paying more or same price as sony centres in Spore.

but i hv read from the 3rd page of this thread, they said that there are some irresponsible shop which will change the fake lens to the ps3. So it mean that it is potential buying a fake lens ps3 which will spoil in a short period. 2 months ? 1 months or maybe 1 week? who know?

finally got my playstation 3 yesterday at gamers hideout...but the usb cable too short meh....need to find longer once while charging the controller..anyway i spend 5 hours playing ps3 last nite...niceee

If ur really scared of the warranty and fake lens issue, best place is still Sony Style at Singapore. As long as it is official distributor, there shouldn't be that problem of fake lense.

but u won't get 1050 over there. but then again, warranty and peace of mind is perhaps will always be a good deal.

If want to buy at Sg, don't buy at sls.. you probably want to avoid that place at all cost. If you happen want to shop at sls only.. then there is Sony Square at 3rd floor or Tec Drom at 5th floor.

Other than that want to be safe just go Sony Style , that's where I bought from.

like i always said,if some1 offer a price at rm1200 + / less...for a so called Brand New console...u're probably buying a PS3 that has non ori lens..or worst still,a RECON unit

caz as a seller,i would say it's really impossible to sell at this price,unless the shop doenst want to earn any profit..which is impossible..

current std price is around rm1350..

and my advice is always buy from a reputable seller...

I think that is GH tactic now ... always say free games but in the end they charged their customer. I might be wrong but i think he is not the first one.

well actually i know...it is impossible for retailers giving free original game...it must already included with the console price...the GT5 cost rm160 at GH , so if minus rm1590 it will be rm1430.......so if i bought just a ps3 console set , well i must get a game to play on it rite , at least one... i think rm1590 reasonable price for the bundle...

well buddy...if u buy 80GB or 40GB , PS3 HDD can be upgraded till 320GB...its easy man to upgrade it...so for me better get 40gb , later on u can upgrade the HDD.

actually, people are planning to wait for the new 80GB bundle bcoz it will be launched at the same official price as the current 40GB set (299.99 pounds for the uk). so if at the same price you can get 40gb extra capacity + 1 dualshock 3, without a doubt you'll buy the new 80gb set rite. but this only applies to those living abroad , since the new 80gb hasn't been released on our shores. if it does launch, then i think sellers might cut down the price of 40gb sets in order to clear stocks. i think that will be the best time to buy a 40gb set...

I think the 80GB will be priced slightly higher than the 40GB. Don't think the 40GB will have any price drop here in Malaysia, well unless Sony brings in the official set, which would really mess up those AP-set.

Anyway, I'm waiting until end of this year, whether we get the 80GB or the official PS3.

It is time for Sony to listen to market demand here in Malaysia.

yup thats true man , the 40GB will stick with the current price and the new 80GB will be slightly higher....by that time more people would buy 40GB ( they will keep on upgrading the HDD ) if 80GB also they would do the same thing...trust me...

ya i agree. seems more likely that even if sony launch 80GB and sell at same price as 40GB once it gets here then the retailers would rather keep the 40 GB price standard (unchanged) and increase the price of the 80 GB sets instead. oh well

Original games are still freaking expensive.
It's becoming a factor for me to get a 360 first before a PS3 since the PS3 AAA titles are not coming out too soon anyway.

i dont think ps3 games kindda expensive...its just like xbox360 games...around rm160 to rm200 something..

Not so expensive compare to much older console's games that using cartridge. Both PS3 and Xbox 360's games are around the same price..

360's games will be cheaper if u mean ahem games but have to risk 3ROD and risk online play for banning ahem games.
