cons...? basically we dun use viewfinder on a compact coz it is too small n u cannot see anything but u get a 3" LCD
if u wan to shoot landscape in night is hard a bit but any compact camera also the same unless u use a tripot nod.gif

hav one problem here..umm.. there are pictures i took, the image of the subject (my case - a person) is clear, but some part of the background is very blur...(in my case, trees and flowers). What went wrong? do i have to set to certain mode or settings? kind of frustrated with the pictures i took recently sad.gif

see number 1 - clearer, number 2 - not clear.... some parts of the picture (background) are also not clear.
y is it like dat?
sinclairZX81
Wow, your picture is too big for my screen but can see the details.

It looks like more the camera was shaking rather than due to out of focus?

Are all your pictures of this type give the same result? Have you tried to use a tripod to see if the results are different? unsure.gif
! Love Money
yes, too big...! that is bcoz u hv a shaky hand

860IS owner checkin in.  thumbup.gif

I just bought mine at the last PC Fair, it was an on-the-spot decision.  sweat.gif  I was going to travel with my trusty Casio EX-S600, so needed another one for the home.

Bought it at RM999 with 1GB + 2GB + mini tripod + metal strap + screen protector, thought it was a good deal at that time coz remember seeing it being sold at RM1,299 somewhere.

Haven't really tested it out but I see that the Canon performs much better than my old Casio for macro and low-light shots. Love the 3" screen.  thumbup.gif

Umm...i don't have a tripod... sad.gif If this kind of pic is caused by shaking camera, why is the blurrness not evenly distributed? part of the objects at the background are clear, some are not, yet there are near to each other. [im not talking crap am i? unsure.gif ] does it hv to do with the settings of the camera? huhuhuhuhu......and yes...most of the pics are like this...almost 80% sad.gif
sinclairZX81
If you don't have a tripod, try putting it on a ledge or other flat surface and try taking a photo using timer. This is to ensure that there is no shaking.

Then if the photo result is still blur in some parts could mean something is wrong with your camera. icon_rolleyes.gif

huhu...ok2...will try...
if got something wrong wit my camera..............hu hu hu.... so sad.....just bought it last week........... cry.gif
sinclairZX81
Ok, good luck dude. icon_rolleyes.gif

Hopefully, your shop can do a 1-to-1 exchange sweat.gif if anything wrong. sweat.gif

its all depend on u, range from 30 bucks to a few thousands
for me 30 bucks is not considered a tripod coz when u attach ur cam on it the cam will hv tendency to fall down
try invest for a few hundreds 1...

all compact PnS will have a limit to where it can take a picture bcoz of that small sensor...

The part of the camera that detects and records the image. It is behind the lens. The better the sensor, the better the image that you get.

a thing that replace the film... film camera uses film roll and digital camera uses sensor... the bigger the sensor size the better the image...

if i am now mistaken, PowerShot 870IS is the same as IXUS 860IS

just like PowerShot 950IS is the same as IXUS 960IS

it's just item coding in different region.

I am still pondering whether to go for 860IS or 960IS. Thought of going to 860IS.. but 960IS also not bad.. arghh!!

anyone with experience on both can advise?
