I just recently bought this highly recommended PnS camera and am happy with it so far.
But i can't seem to find ways to fully utilise the capability of the camera.
Hence i'd like to create this thread to see if theres any see foo's or gurus to give some pointers on making full use of this unit!

ON your slow synchro and use manual mode with flash, you'll be surprise you can get some background sights at night . . .

Yep, gotta definitely agree with the wide feature... very useful when taking wedding pictures in very tight location.. usually you can spot people using this lovely 860is as they will tend to be more closer to the crowd rather than the other normal pns heheeheh....

survey n u can get cheapest around 1.1k... since it its oledi 1 yr liao i advice u to wait for the new model with 28mm wide feature but dun go for larger MP coz the pic quality very suxx

the sensor size only 1/25
there is so much noise when i take the pic with ISO 400

tak boleh tahan de

860IS owner checkin in.
I just bought mine at the last PC Fair, it was an on-the-spot decision.

I was going to travel with my trusty Casio EX-S600, so needed another one for the home.
Bought it at RM999 with 1GB + 2GB + mini tripod + metal strap + screen protector, thought it was a good deal at that time coz remember seeing it being sold at RM1,299 somewhere.
Haven't really tested it out but I see that the Canon performs much better than my old Casio for macro and low-light shots. Love the 3" screen.

Looks like when you want to do those panorama you got to keep the horizon straight and take those photos quick before the clouds move.
Didn't do any special settings on the camera - just switch to macro and turn off flash. But I did some minor post-processing.
