My signal icon changed to some japanese/chinese wording, and below it says 'Select NW'.
It happened when i was in Mid Valley's parking area till Now- home.
I did cpr about 4 times, no results.
Anyone with solution?

nothing much can do. when that happen to me, i use it as my 2ndary phone, not even 24hours i cannot stand already and rush to maxis center to get L shape sim card. i feel humiliating the phone for just leave it aside...

What do they ask you for when you changed your sim??
My sim is postpaid , and it's under my Dad's name. He pays for my bills.
Well, when i want to change sim, must he come along ? Or is it possible to call him at the centre and proof that i'm his son ,so that they can proceed with the exchange.

Did you set your network search mode to manual? Do not set to manual and set it to Automatic. Besides, make sure you lock your network mode to GSM/GPRS only. When you do CPR, make sure you try to do a network search again manually as on some phone.

By the way, some Megamall's basement parking area are dead spots with no reception at all, even on normal phone.





To my experience, the registered owner must present or else you may try to write an official consent letter to Maxis from your dad (might be able but doesn't tried for changing SIM card).

proven and recommended, just go to celcom service center to get a replacement L pattern sim card...

suggesting you to try your luck at the maxis centre near you. it is based on the stock availability.

first time, i went to Maxis TTDI, but there are running out of stock for the L Shape.
second time, i went to Maxis TTDI again (after 1 week or so), just to try my luck, and so happen they have stock, so they change it for me FOC.

lol,i call my telco service which is celcom and they do even know that they have the L shaped simcard and the they say that they only produce one shaped simcard which i been used. But on the exotic thread v7 or 8 if i not mistaken i saw a picture L shaped simcard for celcom..does any one know where i could find it..any exprience user of celcom who change the L shaped simcard..thx

I asked the lady at the counter wheter it's free or not, she told me it will be charged under my monthly bills.
In total , i asked 3 ladies.

Went to KLCC, they didn't have it there. They said that they only have the new 3g sim.


I called the maxis service centre at 7.30pm, i asked wheter they do have stock for the L thingy at any of their centres, they said mostly no,cause they will only provide the new 3g sim.

couldnt confirm now as i need to check back my past maxis bill (doubt i still keep that.)

but as far as i am aware, i dun see any "suspicious" charges on my bill.
