Hi Hi, I am new in this thread. I have just received an offer, he is willing to trade softbank 911t with my two hand phones. So anyway, i am new to Japanese phones and I want to listen to some opinions about this phone and the things I need to check on that phone before trading. Thanks!
This phone is 3G only so it is only usable within 3G coverage area with 3G reception at the specific location. No 3G reception = Out of coverage.
For 911T and you can make and receive calls in 3G mode unlike Docomo models which you can only make calls but not receiving any.

I see I see, thanks. Well, I have relatives in Taiwan and Japan. LOL!
They have been living there for so long and yet I never ask them to bring those phones back to me. I just feel that it's too much hassle. I was thinking about it because someone offered me. But considering the fact he sounds desperate, I don't think the phone is good in any ways.
Thanks a lot!
Added on August 16, 2008, 5:50 amIf you won't be able to receive calls. The phone is practically....useless, sorry to say..>.<
So how do you use your phone? I see you're so905i user?
Try to ask them to bring back the following models for you if you really desperate (from Taiwan):
WX-T92 (Taiwan version of 920SH)
WX-T91 (Taiwan version of 903SH)
WX-T83 [Not sure the model number yet] (Taiwan version of Pantone Slide 825SH, not release yet)
WX-T82 (Taiwan version of 816SH)
WX-T81 (Taiwan version of 705SH)
WX-T71 (Taiwan version of 703SH)
All of them you could use like normal phone in Malaysia

do softbank models hav the cpr issues????
n i oso heard that there's media lock for softbank models, not sure if all r the same though
Newer softbank models do face CPR problem according to what I heard but doesn't confirm personally.
Most of the Softbank models do have media lock except (all or nearly all) Toshiba models.
CPR problem exist in Softbank Toshiba models (3G+GSM) which is worse than what experience in Docomo. Under 3G mode, you can make calls but cannot receive. When you switch network from Auto mode to GSM mode, you will need to do CPR also. Most of the time you can't reconnect back once you lost the signal. Frequency much higher than Docomo one.
This is different case for Softbank 3G only models which could make/receive calls and SMS normally.
