Just to share with you people, my parents came over to UK for a holiday during the summer. Actually they are still here.
Because lots of travelling site will give you super super nice photo, sometimes it's quite misleading. As when you reached the place, it is a bit 'differen't from what you've seen from magazines or books.

Anyway, to start off, I blogged up their journey...so it's like a story. Not much being said in my blog because most of my blog's readers don't really like to read.

This is the first place, or you can say first post when they reach the british soil. They touch down in London heathrow airport and travel down to Plymouth to see me.

Have a look. Plymouth Post Part I

first photo: whatever grill/steak @ weatherspoon is yucky! over cooked, dry and low quality portion of meat. you might as well add a few more quid and get a better steak e.g. Chillis or some local bars. steak @ weatherspoon, avoid at all cost. their caesar chicken salad does taste good though.

i've studied there for 2 years and there's absolutely nothing to fancy about that place. i stayed at bayswater .............

i like wolverhampton.... more refreshing site.

Yah. Me myself prefer central london more. But the travelling is killing me, esp the underground. blink.gif
I mean if you are going for a relaxing holiday, country side would be okay. Other than that, I think the whole UK look the same to me. haha whistling.gif

caesar salad? dont remember really, 4-5 quids or usually they have offer like 2 courses for 6 quids.

go to those attractive tourist spots. london for all its landmark and huge city, penzance for the cliff/sea view, lake side for the green scenery etc.
xynthian
Thanks for the information. Yah.we went to london as well. Just don't have the time to post it up yet.

Meanwhile, enjoy some photos I took from Draycote waters,Rugby. This is just a small lake, we went there because we wanted to visit my brother. Just a few minutes drive from my brother's working place.

transportation is efficient. which part of UK are u lookin at ? cost of living is relatively high. meals are aplenty. employment rate is falling and the people there have heavy brit accents thus making it harder to understand than american english.

most importantly dont forget your ISIC. make sure u apply that and enjoy the perks.

Over my place now, Essex, currently the temperature go as high as 25 during noon.

Erm..job employment rate...depends on what you are studying. Finance field? London is the place I guess. That's the place for all the financial people... banking...you know what I mean.

Food is not expensive if you are making your own meal. McD setmeal is around 4 quids. However the rent is overkill, depends on where you live. Like i'm 45 mins away from London, I'm paying for 700 pound for a 2 bedroom flat. (sharing with sister) hehehe...

And like what sharkteef mentioned. The transportation is efficient. Yea...student cards ISIC always help you to save.

depending on locations. public transport is crap in places like bristol and stoke-on-trent, derby area.

job employment rate? particularly in finance area, forget about it unless you have years of experiences or expert in the field. if not they prefer locals anytime for the communication skills and english. esp. at this gloomy economy, employment in finances area is even worst.

Oh..great. Never been to Liverpool yet. Bath is not that far actually, I'll try to get the photos sorted out and post it up as soon as possible.

Because the time I got there was around noon, so I didn't really have the time to roam around in the city centre. Just manage to get into the Roman Bath. Too bad. Shall plan another visits to Bath some other time perhaps. smile.gif

Nice picture there in Bath. Actually, you should spend the weekend there. Been there 3x. But last time there, on Saturday, ooh.. I love saturday because I am a flea market lover. Managed to walk around the housing area.. Something you can see at the train station. The buildings are curved and I walked around it all the way to the higer level (I think its sloping upward). Then came to an open ground ~5pm in the evening. There were few hot air balloon waiting to float as I watch them set up from scratch.

walk around the antique market too. I was from birmingham too, but that was some 10- yrs ago already (97-99). I know it has changed somewhat, even went to Birmingham city website, bull ring market too.. but, can't really see what the hack the differences. Maybe because I don't feel it at all..

Basically, you can sum it up, in England, typical town/city will have, Market, church, highy street (shopping street). Weekend's flea market...

Yah. I was thinking of going there another time. I only manage to visit the roman bath the other day. Too bad. And I saw the crescent (not sure what that place is called), the building are curved.

The hot air balloon sight must be magnificient!!

the restaurant is nearer to the tube station Queensway than msia hall
But Four Season now opened in Chinatown so its easier access. Queensway too far West for us staying in the East smile.gif. Its only famous for the duck. I still think the Char Siew tastes better in Wong Kei and cheaper too

Halo Edmund!

well, when i was staying in London,i used to go to Oriental City,Colindale, which can be reach by taking the northen line of London Underground. The place is famous for Asian food... blush.gif but now i dunno whether the shopping centre is still available because my friend told me that it has been closed(it closed on 31 May 2008 and i came bek to malaysia before 2007 x'mas). they are going to demolish and rebuild the whole shopping centre.

i think the asian restaurant in that area also not bad...
