770 chipset based too... how familiar r u with asus bios? they can be abit tricky i must say... managed to get my hand on asus board when i was on s939 & intel 2140. generally asus low~mid range board not so gud, but their premium boards are really top notch.


it's still better than my scythe katana2. my case is too small for archilles. any tower cooler around 160mm of height is a no no for it...


for x2 oc on ax78, yes, v[NB 1.1] did help in stability.

previously my 3800+ f3 need it to be @ 1.17~1.20v for d chip to be prime stable.

i am getting better with the bios...this is my first asus board...i must admit the setting is not much in this mobo's bios...
thats y i am thinking of getting a new mobo that is good for overclocking...

if you are not going to cf. take biostar 770 a2+ or ax78 and get better psu.
it maybe not enough for stable oc as well because its not true power.

get at least 550w. i heard gigabyte 550w, silverstone 560 is good.
im saving for pc power 750w. and then you need good heatsink. hypertx2 or xigmatek s1283 if its my choice.

im a hyper tx2 user also. bought at 80 new.
the garage sale sells a corsair 550 at cheap price. i think its better than silverstone and around the same price.
you better look at that. many people also say gigabyte odin gt are better that st56f. do review and dont regret like me.

corsair 550, silverstone st56f, and gigabyte odin gt are very good psu, u wont get wrong by getting one of it

personally, for benchies, 1.5~1.6v, for 24/7, i never put more than 1.35v. d ss above is an exception...


i won't prime @ that kinda voltage if u ask me. u mte risk losin d overclockability of ya chip by primin it @ insane voltage. there were cases that chips will need more voltage in order to prime stable (even @ lower clock) after d scenario.

should able to do cl4 , since my crappy ocz 667 can do it as well..
mayb u nid pump the vdimm to 2.2v, use 2T, and loosening the ram setting to higher ns
for example 195ns.. but not sure your board got this setting or not.
