yup, d bios still a 'lil bit buggy, but i can say it's one of d most complete bios i ever played with for am2/am2+ platform...

The heat pipe look convincing

PWN and Fets design a bit far to CPU .....u go and see other mobo like biostar , abit or DFI most of build very close to the cpu

From my observation,
TA790GX3 A2+ is the highest end version,
it's come along with 128MB GDDR3 side port memory as well as full solid state capacitor.
While TA790GX 128M is using 128MB GDDR2 side port memory with solid state capacitor around PWM area only.

bro, d board seems to have problem doin high htt... i'm stuck around 25x, can't push it further than that. d ACC seems like an extra & useless feature...


i doubt they'll do, Abit target more on end users (or can i say less oc minded) while biostar & dfi are focus on enthusiasts (or half)...


gigabyte had raise their bar in recent years, but still if i were to choose between giga & asus, my heart will still say asus. in general dfi pawns all...


it depends much on how they design & implement d heatpipe, sum looks gud but perform poorly... like abit ax78 silent otes... dun get me wrong, it was a great for its price for d otes thingy was really a let down...

It is confirmed that abit, maker of high-end and gaming motherboards will exit the business of motherboards. The production is to stop by the end of this year. HEXUS.channel has confirmed this as fact from sources close to South East Asian distributors, all of which will be notified by their abit sales contacts from today onwards.

The company will continue to sell motherboards till the end of the year and will honour RMA and warranties for three years subsequently. This first made news as rumours back in May, and back then abit responded that they had no intentions of leaving the market, apparently because they weren't intended to move out back then.

yup bro... i managed to run 2.8GHz on my previous sb600 board in ax78. i'm gonna need sometimes to get used to this new board i guess...

IMHO, heatpipe without fan is actually pointless. The purpose of putting heatpipe is to transfer heat from a higher energy to lower energy place. But mobo makers put them in between of FETs and chipset == both are also hot.

A case with decent air flow would do the cooling job.
Say CM690 with all side, top, bottom, front and rear fans installed...

Hi all Sifu's, I am new in OC and I would like to ask :

1. My current setup good for OC, maybe just up to 3.0Ghz ?
9850+DFI 790Fx+team Extreem ddr2 800 4-4-4-10 4g+AC freezer Pro
64+Corsair HX620 psu
2. Since I am new I am only using AOD on auto clock mode but it'll hang
after 20 minutes.
3. Is this good or is there an y better way to OC or better proc than
since it is a BE ?

Since u using BE proc ...just OC the proc using multipier .
3ghz for 9850be can be done at stock vcore or +0.025 to +0.050
Always oc at bios ...1st oc the proc with loose ram timing ....
after tat u can oc with tighter ram timing

don't be too discouraged mate, i'm still adjustin to d new board & obviously i've been too used to simple bios of abit, need sometimes to pickup on complicated bios like d gud old days of dfi & biostar when i was on nf4 & ta690g.


i'm not qualify enuf to be regarded as sifu, just sharin w' i've read thru & encountered in oc'in phenom:

1. some 9850 b.e did clock badly, it depends much on d batch no. mind to provide d info? it can be find on d code engraved on d IHS. for example, mine is 0810 GPAW.

2. don't ever use AOD for 24/7 oc, bios oc still d best. i only use aod to adjust d voltages. onceu played w/ htt adjust, most of d time u'll get a bsod or freeze (in my case).

3. for b.e, play w/ d multi 1st, once u hit d limit then explore d htt oc abit, u mite gain some MHz from that.

Ok thanks for the advice.....I freeze all the time for AOD. NVM i'll try to learn to OC on the bios but I guess it'll take some time.
