just had some update regardin gigabyte 790gx board, estimated available on 1st week of september, priced @ a staggerin $279 (RM665 )... thou it's not yet finalized but i'm not so optimistic. guess i'll go biostar 1st while waitin for dfi to release their sb750 boards...

my rig got a rare prob.. sometime blue screen appear & auto restart..
& sometime when i play dota the screen hang for 1-2 sec & got 'eeeek..' sound come out..
how to fix it ??

try to reset ur cmos back.. n start oc back from beginning.. or u can try to investigate one by one..

aiyoyoyo i already give up ( just a few days ) ocing my rig... even i applied CM ramsink on the mofset still heard some wierd sound area mofset that mean not stable for the system ...i think my rig already full of fan including wall fan lol ...y arr when applied the vcore around 1.5v and oc to 31xx the system must not pass the orthos even i lose the ram timing and HT link... huhuhu..my cpu temp on 15min of orthos r below 60c..here my last setup :

yeah, long time no see..quite bz with final year project currently, but still got time to hunt for a decent board

right now, TA780 is my absolute choice..but since the 790GX might be released soon, im thinking its better to wait for it

how bout usin lower ram divider? it could be psu juice not enuf if there's hisslin sound from mobo/psu. from my experience of oc'in am2 on 770 chipset board, u just need to play w/ cpu-nb voltage, vcore & vdimm. mebe u can pass me ya chip to play around b4 i change to 790gx board...

HT and ND voltage is edy too high

HT voltage should be set 1.25(stock) or 1.275
NB voltage should be set 1.5 (stock) or 1.7

did u lock up the option at bios CPU-VID to 1.35 ??

I got the same issue with my TA770 previously. Hissing like madness
But for me only way that will happen is when i oc my gc...

i think the hissing sound are cause by the nb or sb voltages.. last time i OC and add the nb and sb voltages, it alway make the hissing sound...

yahhh...u r rite casperito..mine when i add vcore or oc exceed 3.1xx that sound will come out when i fail on orthos the sound a more worse! like got bug inside my rig lol is it really my psu fault? i use CM Extreme power 460W the device on my rig r : CPU | Mobo | 2 stick ram | 1 DVD-RW drive | 3 Led 120mm fan | 1 Aux Fan | 8800GT gc only...i done do the wattage calculation only use 315W

undervolt? yeah, that's what i ask for in abit forum, d answer i got was... we are overclockers, so we don't need d undervolt option...

at least ax78 got no hissin sound when voltages are high, it overclocks x2 & phenoms pretty well too...

so that board solely for oc? if atleast got that option not hurt much i think..
last time my TA690G also don't have.. after few updates got that option..

but i do really think the CPU-VID is needed since sometimes default value that been set by mobo is not correct..
some cpu got lower/higher default vcore..
so adjusting correct voltage is also the art of the OC..
OC not just pump high vcore.. surely who answer that too bolt..

From my 4200 F2 65W , vocre is 1.2v to 1.25 so wat is the real vcore
i found da if i dont lock the CPU-VID....if i oc with vcore +0.05. so u really think the vcore is 1.3 ?? wrong it droping to 1.27 or 1.28
the vcore at load is 1.3 (sometime will at 1.29) and idle at 1.27v

the CPU-VID is to lock the CPU vcore
after it lock at 1.25 ....if oc +0.05...the vcore is 1.3v .. it wont drop (depend the PSU good 1 no hv problem)

that's the thing vcore ranging from 1.15-1.25
some software can report.. some need to test with default clock..

with CPU-VID is easy to check coz not automatically set by mobo..

my rig runing 250 X 11 + CnQ +vcore 0.025

idle vcore is 1.168v and load is 1.280v
