So the right one Deneb to compare is,either the Yorkfield or the Mainstream of Nehalem series..Forgot what its called.I think Its either the Lynnfield or Havendale tongue.gif
Btw guys,2 days ago,i manage to surpass 3.6@BIOS
But when yesterday,i tried again using same settings,it cannot surpass 3.6 again..Why o?
imsmiko
QUOTE(AMDAthlon @ Aug 7 2008, 11:06 AM)
Penryn is actually Whole 45nm of Intel.
That includes the Yorkfield and i forgot what its called for Dual Core doh.gif
But another is,the OC-ability which makes people think to jump.I still wonder why they compare Deneb with Nehalem.Since Nehalem(Bloomfield) is an Extreme Edition.Or in other names, comparing AMD Phenom 9550 with QX9775 biggrin.gif

are you sure your 13? brows.gif
well. for most of us. what really matter i the value per maximum speed that we are getting.
ex. 500rm gets us a 3.4g quad compared to 800 to get 3.5g quad. that's my point of view.

by the way this would be my last post for few days. have to go back to real life now.
have a long trip ahead. bye boys.

3.2 on phenom is fast enough for me. cyloh is poisoning me to change to the darkside.
im a lite gamer but new to this overclock thing. so if possible want to taste all that i haven't before. heee.
22' only. not planning for high resolution. but i still feel my chip is bottleneck my 4850.
no problem. the pleasure was all ours. if the chip still with me it would be a waste.
phenom hate voltage. did try it before and its hard to oc phenom.
yes. it dont do well with extra vcore.
looks promising. 3.2.  thumbup.gif

if u plan to stay w/ amd, then u can grab a 9850 b.e. pair it w/ 790gx boards that equipped with sb750, i can safely say 3.2GHz is no sweat. smile.gif

but if darkside is too hard to resist, by all mean grab those quaddies sell by bro kucingfight (not sure they're still available atm laugh.gif ). from there u can challenge bro -pWs- ledi since he's on q9300 as well... tongue.gif

Deneb still lose I think.
Need higher Vcore to achieve high clock speed if compared to Intel Penryn/Yorkfield. (Should I compare directly w Yorkfield) laugh.giflaugh.gif

yup, w/ super high voltage, it's not meant for 24/7 setup. intel still leadin comfortably atm & near future... sad.gif

I'm the one plan to stay with AMD..and maybe some of the rest member.
Yeah..But only time decides it.Cya imsmiko in Intel thread.
Im 13..Check tradelist who had COD with me and PM them biggrin.gif
bro ah khoo..Is there any plans to move darkside you? tongue.gif
Regarding performance..i cant tell much because most of games i played smooth, eventhou imsmiko said she lagging while playing NFS,i dont have any prob with it..

phenom spec on the amd page is stated stock vcore at 1.15/1.2/1.25v
when i just got my mobo, it was running at 1.15v default. i think due to the months of bios updates,
now everyone calls 1.25v as phenom's stock volt.

somemore my mobo got...err izit vdroop?? so i can somehow actually run on 1.13v LOL..

bro ah_khoo, dun mind too much about nb multi. dropping nb multi might make you climb HTT easier,
in my own experience, phenoms dun enjoy low nb too.

maybe try pci set to 64 instead of 32??? smile.gif smile.gif

edit:
i suspect imsmiko will come back real soon. nobody truly quits oc'ing. not for long... muahahaha

bro, i know that nb freq should always be higher than ht link. but in my case d ht link is hoverin @ 1.6~1.7k (IIRC) but d nb freq is @ 2.2k, which i think is abit too high. sweat.gif

rest assured i'll try my very best to achive higher clocks... 2.8GHz could be possible for sp 1m, i'm targettin 2.7GHz prime stable currently... biggrin.gif

normally if cpu temp is 40c , core #1 is around 36 tp 39c and core # also 36 to 39c

that's d point (it's harder to be stable on 64-bit os if compared to 32-bit) besides ya super high voltage (which directly causing high temp). smile.gif

to reach that clock for prime stable, u need extra coolin, mebe air cond. i wouldn't prime my chip w/ ~1.6v, that's abit insane if u ask me. sweat.gif

peltier meaning more power consumption... need another extra PSU to power it up or u can mod it to ur current PSU...
i think u shud go for water cooling rather than peltier... peltier seems kinda risky... but hey, it not bad to try...
