Well Sandisk Ultra II has 15MB/S read/write while Sandisk Extreme III has 30MB/S read/write.

So the question is would it be sufficient with the 15MB/S or shall we go all the way. smile.gif

Speaking of memory cards, my cheapo DNA 4 GB SDHC apparently is faster than a regular Sandisk 2 GB SD Card.....

Hey there, i am about to get a SLR for myself. At the moment i am considering A300 vs D80, i was quite committed into getting the A300 due to it's relatively affordable price. But after all the reviews in which i have read all over the internet, it seems that D80 has got the upper hand. For those that have just bought D80 may i know what's the price range for D80 (Only Body) cost?

If i were to get D80, i am planning to get only it's body and the 18-70mm lens as it would cost much lesser. Again may i know the price for the body itself without the kit lens which has been provided.

D80 Body only can be bought now for only RM 2k - 2.1k. If you like, the newly launched 18-105mm VR lens is said to be pretty good. I'm sure there are many peeps with the D90 now letting go of that lens for 1k. Good luck mate!

Thanks for the reply, would any shop be willing to sell off the D80 only with the body itself, since the package is bundled together with kit lens. Is there any recommendation as to which shop i should purchase it from? As far as i am concern Foto Shangrila seems to have competitive prices.

Not really... there is a "Body Only" D80 package for the price that I mentioned. You don't have to get the Kit Package.

If Foto Shangri-La can give you these prices (or cheaper) then don't waste your time to shop around. If they can't, there are some shops that forumers would recommend.

Well, the kit-len for D80 doesn't have VR, do you guys think it's worth to change the kit-len for 18-135 VR when we buy D80 and roughly how much we need to top-up?

@ bold : I never come across any lens in that range with VR. If you mean 18-105 VR, then yes. It's a D90 kit lens.
How much ? I can get it at RM 900 smile.gif

errr...of course got diff....some ppl is selling it at 1k....that is 100 diff....
read some threads...18-105VR is hood is made of HB-32 plastic bayonet..in term of durability and longevity it might be a problem...

if pretty weird D80 buyer don't want the kit lens (aiming for 18-195VR mistake should be 18-105VR) and D90 don't want it as well aiming something else like (18-200VR might be wrong with the code...to many to remember)....

VR = Vibration Reduction.

Package depends on shop.
