if i am not mistaken..

lazo diamond are selling mostly 9k white gold... thus their selling price is so much lower than normal white gold ie 18k...

lazo diamond also offers a 70% trade in value. that is, if u buy from them for RM 100, sell back to them after that, u can get RM 70 to buy new stuff....

Diamond & Platinum sells 18k white gold and platinum. white gold and platinum are 2 different thing although u can't really tell the difference when u look at it

if ur issue is to have a higher trade in value, i think u should get something with gold~~ as Gold prices are going up non stop.
if white gold, really hopeless.. very very low price one.. worst still if u buy those with tiny stones. lagi no value.

if u want something that is nice to look, cheap and affordable, get it from lazo. their rings are from RM 39 only.... white gold!!!!

faerieC
i think de most important is the design tht u choose ur gf will like it or not.

for my own opinion, i prefer diamond & platinum for their quality
i get my bday ring & anniversary necklace from my bf at diamond & platinum..hehe

as wat sbux mention, yup.. if u wan a trade in for high value in future, u should choose gold. even though gold value will go up & down but still hv more value than white gold & platinum for trade in blush.gif

Diamond and Platinum, The Gems are under PYT groups

Lazo Diamond is under Weng Kwong

Personally i prefer The Gems. As their diamond quality are better IMO ( it has more blue light than yellow light)

Just wanna ask how much is a diamond ring? wanna do some research on the price of engagement ring.
gstrapinuse
i personally prefer Diamond & platinum coz the quality is better than lazo although lazo its cheaper. The design also not so nice...

As far as I know, how valuable a diamond is depends on the grade. So if you get something which nice cut and grade, then the re-sell value will be higher. My sis's friend when to a shop in Bangsar and he bought a 0.3 carat diamond for RM1.7K (with very good on all expect and one excellent). Then do a white gold ring with it, total come up to RM3+++.

i would say that if u aim for more simple dsigns without much diamond (which makes it much affordable) then u shuld go to lazo...if u aim for nice dsign with quality diamonds...then i suggest diamond n platinum....

When buying a diamond, remember the 4 Cs - Cut, Clarity, Color, Carat. Each of these 4 factors influence the diamond price.

Most people would start with the Carat or weight of the diamond. How big do you want it? In my opinion at least 0.30 carat, otherwise it looks too small. Of course if you can afford it the wife would always like bigger. biggrin.gif Note there is a big price jump at 0.50 carat, 0.75 carat and 1.00 carat.

For Color, I think G is reasonably good enough. The scale starts from D (whitest) and you don't want to go to I and below (might have slight yellow tint).

Clarity - VS1 is also reasonaly good enough. You pay through the nose for flawless or even VVS1/VVS2. Not worth it in my opinion.

Finally we come to Cut, which is the trickiest to assess since most certs don't have a grading system. But this is important because cut determines how sparkly the diamond is.

Lastly, I prefer to buy a diamond that comes with a Certificate - this is to ensure you get what you pay for. The cert must come from a reputable lab like GIA, AGS, HRD.

Buying tip: look out for diamond sales and buy the diamond loose. I've seen some good deals at Habib sales, etc. After that then choose the ring setting. For engagement rings, the classic solitaire style never goes out of fashion.

i prefer diamond platinum design rather than lazo because diamond platinum looks fashionable and young designs for those ladies... but diamond platinum slightly expensive than lazo...

I support wat jchong said, nod.gif most important thing when comes to diamond selection is the "4C".

My 2 cents, I followed the priority below:

Carat --> Cut --> Color --> Clarity biggrin.gif

Y clarity the last? simple, oni those VERY experienced can discover a flaw under naked eye starting from SI2. Which means any grade before SI2 is hardly tell... (of coz u'll c the flaws with the 10x magnifying scope tongue.gif) wat for paying so much buying a VVSI diamond? with the same price u might be able to get a much bigger VS2 diamond brows.gif who will ask your wife-to-be to take out the ring n inspect it under a magnifying scope in order to find the flaws rite?

Y cut is important? as jchong mentioned earler, becoz it determines how sparkly the diamond is. Mine is with 8hearts 8arrows, excellent cut thumbup.gif

Buying loose diamond is the best move ever! Coz u can check the precious diamond from each and every angle clearly (some shops may cover the flaws by using its setting), n yet, u can compare the price smile.gif

But 1 thing I would like to correct is, the price gap is actually at 0.50 carat, 0.70 carat, 0.90 carat and 1.00 carat. If u can afford, try to get above 0.30 carat (slightly above is ok), coz buying anything below 0.30 carat is not worth buying. And plz try your best to oni go for certified diamonds (such as GIA, AGS or HRD) icon_idea.gif mine is GIA certified

Well lastly, the best of the best way to select engagement ring is buy the loose diamond first! for the setting, bring along your wife-to-be. Let her choose the best setting she likes (coz she is the one who wears it for the rest of her life, too risky if u got something she doesn't really like but hv to pretend she likes it sweat.gif, and u can get her measurement 100% fit) although this way is no more surprise, but u can still collect the ring urself (dun bring her n of coz dun show her the ring this time) until u propose!! "ta~~da~~" This was how my fiance did wub.gif

Everyone take a wild guess, how many carat is mine? (HINT: not bigger than 1.00 carat, he's not a millionaire blush.gif)

All the best in your diamond hunt~~ thumbup.gif

My guess is 0.5 - 0.7 ct.

Which hearts and arrows brand did you get?

Not bad dear! actually it's 0.76 carat biggrin.gif

My fiance got it from Soo Kee... According to him, they always hv nice GIA diamonds promotion icon_idea.gif He said initially he wanted to get something ard 0.8 - 0.89 carat (since price will jump a lot more once it hit 0.90carat). But he failed although been waiting for quite some time. Those pro said it's kinda hard to get good proportion, good cutting, high color n good clarity at the size he wants (even yes they will cut it into >0.90carat to maximize their profit).... so at the end I got this wink.gif
jchong
A nice size!

Yes, not easy to find a stone with all the right 4Cs. As you said, when it gets close to a price jump point the cutters want to maximize the yield and that normally means sacrificing the cut.

Did you look at your stone using a scope to see all the pretty hearts and arrows?

I saw the 8 arrows clearly(sometimes without scope oso can c! just need to adjust to the proper distance n angles) but dun hv the chance to c the hearts sad.gif coz when I got the ring, my fiance oledi set it wif the classic Tiffany casing sweat.gif

I remember seeing a Soo Kee in Pavilion.

As for hearts + arrows the cutting is always 8 + 8. Here's some extra info for you: http://www.whiteflash.com/diamonds_info/t/...id=23&zoneid=15
