That one is only his "excuse" to withdraw from the tournament. The actual reason is he's tired after winning Wimbledon. He will be okay by next week for Rogers Cup. Well, he does find time to go beach with his girlfriend. tongue.gif tongue.gif

Lolz, it is Rogers Cup because a company called Rogers Telecommunication sponsors the tournament. tongue.gif tongue.gif

heeren
haha... that's the name of the competiton... not the name of the stadium lo tongue.gif

anyway if it had any connection to federer... then u will see only federer winning it every single year when he participates even till old age lol.. tongue.gif ok i m not making any sense here whistling.gif:

haha i think they should name a stadium after him..
one of the greatest players in history..

although nadal beat fed in wimbledon i still don't feel like he's a very keng player or something.
but fed, despite his loss, still maintains his class.. it's the look and the way he wins points i guess biggrin.gif

Bepeon
No worries about Nadal, he's always injured. Sometimes arms, sometimes ass, sometimes knees, sometimes ankle.. But he still gets to play well. Haha, i don't really trust all his "injuries".

Yeah, Federer really needs to bounce back.
uhuk-uhuk
i remember last year fed said in an interview that he does not need to worry bout his level of play coz he's already a level above the rest...
then now it seems like many more players are coming up dy...
he really needs to make a comeback and win more finals...haha biggrin.gif

nadal is really amazing with his injuries. he has all the pain in the world and 3 painkillers later, he is playing his best tennis and all. hmm, maybe he trying to get the opponent to sympathise with his injuries. or maybe those aren't just painkillers... tongue.gif lol.. joking joking. no offence

Nadal still can win even he injured(i dont care it fake or true) bcos Uncle Toni already teach Nadal not to give up and fight every ball, that why we can see Rafa win the set even he already look will lost that set laugh.gif

just read H.Metro today about Rafa only have one coach since he start learn to play tennis, and surprisingly his main ambition is to be a footballer and play for Real Madrid, even he ask his uncle Miguel Angel (ex Spain footballer) to bring him meet Ronaldo at Barcelona, really funny to read his story, even get a million but still stay with family and his mom always shouting to Rafa when bcos his bedroom bersepah laugh.gif

somehow Federer seems to fear him too much which gives Nadal the edge even before the match starts

Bepeon
Probably not.. Due to the height maybe. Haha.

And also the high competition in tennis compared to squash. smile.gif

bepeon, if both fed and nadal meet in the final of the next two tournaments, and nadal wins them both, will nadal be no.1 already?
Bepeon
I don't think so. Unless Federer loses in 1st round and Nadal wins the tournament, then he's the new No.1.
celciuz
So it is the hardcourt season already? biggrin.gif:D Grass court season seems pretty short er...

If that happens in toronto, nadal's the new no.1?
Bepeon
Yeah. Or it happens in Cincinnati (the next Masters Series after Toronto)

Everything is on the line now.. Federer can't let it slip by a bit. Every match can change everything.
uhuk-uhuk
wow. difference of 500 points rite?
is it that easy to close that gap?
celciuz
If Federer somehow gets kicked out during the first round of Cicinnati, which he won last year.. then a lot of his point is going to be deducted. (Or rather a whole 500 will be gone @@)
Raikkonen
Djokovic won last time.
Go home early joko laugh.gif

Yeah... Lolz. smile.gif Its held in Toronto. It will start off today.
Today is the first round and Starsports will begin the covereage at 1am.

About the points... A victory in Grand Slam worths 1000 points, a victory in Masters Series event worths 500 points.

Since Federer was the finalist for last year in Rogers Cup Masters, he has to defend 350 points. Nadal was the semifinalist, he has 225 points. smile.gif
So if Federer loses before the final, he loses points. Same with Nadal.. if he loses before semifinals, he loses points.

Federer can only add points if he wins the tournament, while Nadal can add points if he reaches the finals. smile.gif

And on the side note, Djokovic is the defending champion. smile.gif
celciuz
Oh this was the tourney Djoker won no.3 then no.2 then no.1 when he was still no.4 back then one is it?

Yes. He beat Roddick in the quarters, Nadal in the semis and Federer in the final. smile.gif smile.gif Very impressive.

But this year will be Federer who shines. rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

Can't wait to watch Federer playing after the heart-breaking Wimbledon final.
uhuk-uhuk
i never knew that points would be deducted if u perform worse than the previous year.
so fed dropped quite a number of points at wimbledon while nadal gained much needed points la..
hmmm that explains the sudden talk bout displacing the world no.1 player biggrin.gif
