Im posting this to share with you that u may increase the signal of your WiFi router and boost stability and speed over internet connection. I have not tried it personally but I will do it soon. Have anyone tried it already?

Click on appropriate link to your specific router. Check whether your router support this upgrade.

EDITED because of my stupidity sweat.gif :
actually ive heard of this "hack" before but i recall it being for the older model of linksys router. Its good to hear that this works on a newer model of linksys WRT54G. too bad i threw away my old linksys router xD it wasn't functioning anymore. Maybe i'll get a new one(currently on NETGEAR)
a word of advice, becareful if you don't know what you're doing, you MIGHT brick our router (though the possibility is low, you never know, if you've done a mistake)
and i think it prolly works better with a linux >.> just a thought

Ryuuga, thanks for the great info. I can see more ppl moving towards to Linux slowly. Anyway, can u confirm if the upgrade above is good? Have u tried it? Im not so good in Linux, so i need your favor to check it out if u dont mind.

Btw, guys, this upgrade doesnt require u to use Linux OS to do it. It is a window based software. They r using Linux open source software to hack ur router and make it superior. smile.gif

Owh lol, I thought what tongue.gif its the dd-wrt. Yeap its a very good firmware hack that enables lots of function smile.gif Tried it once laugh.gif you gotta be very careful with the steps else you'll brick your router. Some router can just easily flash it like a firmware upgrade tongue.gif

I would say stability does improve, more stuff to mess with. Improving WiFi not too sure, it's been the same all the while lol. If your router is all fine tongue.gif then no need to upgrade lol, unless you're having big headaches with router hung up, slow connection (not streamyx) and etc regarding to router then dd-wrt is the way to go.

I was going to try it cos wanna stream media files from PC to PS3. Also enhance the WiFi range for better connection in PS3. I hope this can help.

i just realised i did a stupid thing lol, i was reading the linux thread and replied here xD without knowing it was somehow related hahahah sweat.gif

Anyways, to answer your question, yes it DOES work. Ive tried it before on my older router. Coupled with the "WEP hacking" ability in Linux, you can actually leech off your neighbours internet connection huhuhu
Oops, hope my neighbour didn't read this xD
BlueLotus
OT: Ryuuga, can PM me and teach me how to leech neighbouring network?
