My streamyx is F ! So I wonder if you guys are having the same problem ? SOmehow I feel like I'm the only one screwed. I can't get into MSN at all for like almost 2weeks. I can't check hotmails, or even Yahoo. What the heck. I run the speed test and everything seems normal. My pc is free from virus and bugs.

I even hooked up my ps3 and there is DNS error reported.. Heck.. Reported to TMnet and nothing has been done so far and that's like 4 weeks ago ? Geez..

Any other better broadband provider in penang island ?

Penangfon used to be good, but now I can hardly get a connection at all, sometimes even for days.
This has been going on for quite a while now.

If you called up their IT support, they do answer you in a good way and promised to call back.
They never did.

Also, you have to use their router even you have an existing one.

So yeah, don't bother switching to Penangfon. It is as bad.
I myself am thinking of switching to streamyx now.

Well, PenangFon got it good and bad. I am still very confident that it will be better than Streamyx.

The RM450 modem (should be transformer) will only be applicable for landed properties, which PenangFon hasn't had support yet after 3 - 4 years for promise.

For landed property, I think that the no connection issue will be not so frequent as all of us has our own dedicated line, hence the requirement of transformer.

If you ask me when the landed property can only use PenangFon, I would say about the same time that TM Net launch it's Fiber Optic services in Penang.

No offence to Maxis Broadband, but they are the worst. 3GB a month?! I can finish that in one night if I need to download stuff.

Celcom broadband is no better, although that they can pair up with streamyx makes it interesting.

Jaring, well the last time I went to their shop, the lady there told me that Penang only got "narrowband" - translation -Dial up up to 76kbps.

Streamyx, well credit to them, they respond timely when my streamyx got problem and they won't charge you anything if they need to replace any parts, while the support line is tollfree (I have to admit that some of their support team is not good). However, they just got too many problems. I hope that current optimization will improve the service significantly.

Let's Hope that P1, Izzi, TimeCel or other Selangor/KL based ISP comes in. Also, let's hope that Motorola WiMax will be available soon in Penang.

Hope that helps.

Hi Devil_Van,

Currently there are "system improvement" around Penang. I had made a complaint and they say the problem will be solved in the next few weeks.

In my place - Greenlane, service is bad last 2 weeks and I hav constant session hang. This week, everything seems back to almost normal and a lot of the websites I can't visited / slow surfing had came back. Guess they are really doing optimization.
