LOL, I read back on that thread and I mixed up atomicjelly with kari =S
Anyway, if this temp thread gets closed also, it'll really be funny.
Wanna name the top 3 drummers that you enjoy listening to the most?
1. Gavin Harrison
2. Virgil Donati
3. LOL, can't think of any =S
All understated prog-rock types... all in great bands...
-Nintedo Wii-
Jul 8 2008, 12:04 AM
1. Mitch Mitchell - Jimi Hendrix Experience - a very artful drummer imo i love his work and his drumming has so much feeling and technicality to it.
2. Keith Moon - The Who - So much energy and crazy fills, fast and precise and incredibly influential.
3. Josh Eppard- Coheed & Cambria - technically not really the best/most technical drummer but is very talented and energetic and has fills and beats that are weirdly nice. and they fit the music perfectly despite being not so typical beats and snare accents at strange places and creative fills. lots of emotion in his playing.
i love these drummers. others would be Taylor Hawkins, Chad Smith, Jojo Mayer, Dennis Chambers and Chris Pennie...
my least favourite drummers are Travis Barker (just because of his overrated-ism) and JOEY JORDISON (chyeah he can play double bass, so can tamas haake and akira jimbo.good job there joey.)

Jul 8 2008, 12:05 AM
1. Tigger Drummer (youtube)

The standard Forum throne and the Pearl round throne, the one that is slightly better then the 75s...800 series I think?....I love those Pork Pies though....looks so comfy....but it costs a bomb.....
Saru, I suggest you just go for the Roadster like Kari's....those are very durable and nice to sit on.......anybody tried lifting the D-2000 throne? Gosh that's super heavy!

Who's going to Bentley?
I'm feel like going tomorrow... I'm very free these days, waiting to start my new job in August. I've just been offered a job after passing a gruelling 3-hour interview.
Which reminds me... I'll have to buy the Simon Philips pass since I'll be free. Hope to see you guys there.

yes. it feels like velvet rather than cloth. they should put D-1000V instead of C. Hahahaha...
but if you really wanna buy D-1000 series throne, i suggest you get the one with air-suspension. Gives bouncy feeling rather than static. I also cover my throne's surface with plastic because the velvet tend to collect dust like insane.
guys, i can go and check out the zildjian price for you all but only at BB branch. I worked at Jln Tun Razak area so to go to Mutiara Damansara is damn far for me. BB branch is just on my way home.
Party2DMax
Jul 9 2008, 05:09 AM
Vinyl FTW... no worries about dust. I haven't seen the one with the suspension at Bentley so far but I would never have thought that it was bouncy like Gibraltar. It just gives me the impression that it absorbs shock... like what kinda shock can happen when you're playing drums -.-|||
Mine is D2000. And it's not heavy la... unless you compare it to lesser thrones. I personally believe that Pearl's hardware is more well-made compared to Tama and Yamaha for example. Can't go wrong with Pearl.

Go to Bentley and JS and see which one you like lorr.
After all they're both in BB. Just find one day, go there, and get your throne.
Do you really want a branded one? Maybe even a cheap one can make you happy already. But if you insist on a branded throne, I recommend Pearl.

Refer to
http://tariff.customs.gov.my for to see if any tax applies.
If you have an agent, they'll send it to your house otherwise you'll have to go KLIA. I've shipped through GDex, UPS, DHL, FEDex... they'll handle the customs side and send to your house directly - if you agree to their charges.

173cm is above the average height of 165cm for a M'sian adult male, or so it says on Wikipedia.
I'd better check out some Simon Phillips clips so I can know what to expect. Is it mentioned what he's going to teach?

screw Simon Phillips! a lil discussion here...
who are you guys' local drummer hero????? (those who you guys have seen they play)
1) John Thomas FTW!!!!!!!!!!!
2) Alang (MUZE, Furniture, Bittersweet, etc etc etc)
3) Hafiz (Butterfingers)
4) Ainol (Deja Voodoo Spells)
5) Ihsan (Custom Daisy, Couple, TWKUA)
i dont mention old2 drummers here not because they aint good, but they are not really fun to watch. I admit their skill and what not but i rather watch a solid and interesting playing rather than highly skillful but boring playing.

dudez, its so boring lately,no much happening from drums eh.
any suggestions? y not arrange for some gatherings or something?
ohya, ive took the trouble to go thru the thread,n im also looking for a good sturdy throne! my current throne is not height adjustable n it wobbles n eventually goes lose when i cant even finish one complete song which has double bass parts. kinda frustrating! its very very important to get a sturdy throne if ure practicing/playing double bass. imagine both legs r airborned, only your butt is balancing your whole body, plus in motion.
good day dudez!
