blacktrix
Yeah, wouldn't mind getting that if I have some cash lying around......... but gotta save up for that Elvis guitar first.
BTW, I totally nailed my Rock School exams today thumbup.gif But I missed a few notes and screwed up my trem picking.... sad.gif

My MT2 died suddenly yesterday night when playing it. I suspect its due to 1spot adapter. Anyone knows where can i send it for repair?
blacktrix
evalshtog, That's probably the cheapest you can get from a Dealer in Malaysia. Sure, you can take a chance and order it online, but don't forget, you might be unlucky and have to argue with the tax man.....
My suggestion? Get it from Spruce guitar. If you get it from Singapore (which is MAYBE RM500 cheaper), you still have to carry it over....... and Deans are NOT small and light........

How many pedals are you powering using the 1spot?

have u tried using a batt to power?
i've always hated adapters and will never use them unless the effect in question has really shitty battery life like 9hrs or something.
but a boss? the 9v batt in there will last a long time.
sean392
Especially clipping pedals, they tend to have very low power consumption, a 9v battery can last easily 15-20 hours.

Adapters rock! But getting one with overly high amount of current will risk frying your pedal. If you're really lucky, you get both your pedal and your adapter fried !
Everdying
eric johnson says adapters sux, so they sux.
adapters are AC, batts are DC.
eric johnson says got difference in tone, so got difference.

eric johnson uses duracell, so u must use duracell too.

lol at everdying's fanboism.

btw, wanted to buy fuel tank jr lah, when i got my pedalboard complete(dunno when). is it a good idea ar? since it has regulated AND isolated output. cost bout sgd150 at blackwood guitar.

p/s: sounds funny right. spend so much for a powersupply. hmm.gif
blacktrix
Not really. I spent that much on the Jim Dunlop power brick tongue.gif

I was powering around 4 pedals that time. And 1 thing weird was...when i was using the adapter to power any of the pedal up, I notice some mild "electric shock" at the pedal and also my guitar parts (strings, bridge etc). And when i switched back to battery the problem's gone. How come ah?
blacktrix
Sounds like a grounding problem. Happened to me before too. Switch to a 3 pronged power plug (with an Earth) and you shouldn't have that problem.

But the adapter(1spot) is already a 3 pin adapter so I guess grounding is not an issue here? And I didnt smell any burnt or fried smell/smoke coming from the pedal at that time. And the pedal still working when i bypass(lights off) but no response when I turn in on. Anyhow, know where can I send it for repair and how mcuh would it cost?

Added on November 16, 2008, 1:41 pmbut i guess ill have to deal with the rosewood fretboard and licenced trem =( hows the their trem?does it go out of tune always?

Added on November 16, 2008, 1:51 pmand blacktrix, does your razorbac worth 5 thousand ringgit?
sean392
Ebony is not necessarily better than rosewood.
Some ppl can't stand ebony as a fingerboard wood. It's quite a common misconception though that ebony is a better fingerboard wood.
blacktrix
I find my Razorback goes out of tune MUCH faster then my vastly insuperior RR3 Trem....... but then again, I REALLY abuse the trem.
And yes...it's around RM5k.

what i meant was .was it worth every penny youve spent?
blacktrix
To me, it definitely was. Yes, there are better mahogany bodied guitars that can cost around the same region, but it just looks so damn killer. It sounds like nothing I have in my collection. Kind of a cross between my Les Paul and my RR3...... which is exactly what I was looking for. Also, the V-neck profile of my 255 just made so much sense now.

It's a great shredding guitar, and one that really draws a TON of attention.

u got my attention alright at gc

nope didnt a/b.
tho i wished i got the ac30, cos the classic rock with the pickups my guitars has...i get no usable clean sound at all.
even with gain on 1 it still has a slight crunch tongue.gif
but i think thats just the way its made, cos reviews say if want clean sound go for the ac30.

and got new model? i also dunno.
freakfingers12
Does anyone here own a Boss ML-2?Any reviews? I heard some clips over the internet and I really like the deep bone crushing tone unlike the MT-2. Just waiting to try one really soon.

i have one ..

its not like MT-2 or Zoom Tri Metal...MT-2 and Zoom Tri Metal ..are damn versatile ..

ML-2 has only 1 tone ..but that tone is bloody brutal ...and it doesn't sound like it is some digital wank metal pedal..

overall..my conclusion is ..

MT-2 and Zoom Tri Metal are much more versatile than ML-2
but
the best tone of ML-2 , will pawn the best tone of MT-2 and Tri Metal smile.gif
ChipZ
Talking about this, guys, how do u get the pinch harmonics (squelies) out of the max? I mean I know the technique and things but when i do it (using MT2) its just some slight high pitch note. Not the powerful scream tone, if u get what i Mean. Does it have anything to do with the amp? I am using an average normal 15W peavey amp at home only.
fatboythin
Well, it depends on how hot your pickups are and your amp EQ too. Make sure you don't scoop the mids too much, and include a decent amount of gain+treble. But I don't think it should be a problem with an MT-2. tongue.gif
ChipZ
I have the harmonics, but not those hyper-mighty-ultimate-fat-loud-screaming type of harmonics. Just the 'steel sharp' sound. Argh..really hard to describe in words. Lol!
blacktrix
Could be pickups........ how hot are your pickups?
I noticed an instant surge of power between single coils and humbuckers (especially EMGs).....
Also, make sure it's a healthy amount of gain and like fatboythin says, little more on the mids.

Technique is also important..... as you're supposed to ring the note while plucking.
Give it a little vibrato and see.

yeap..currently i have 2 lah ..i am planning to keep one ..

it is very underrated lah..thats all i can say ..
now or days
people don't wanna buy a BOSS pedal ...because it is a BOSS ..too common , sell out etc etc ..all sorts of excuses lah..
in the end people never even try a ML-2 ..so not many people know ML-2 's real tone ..

its only a matter of time , people will start realizing how power this ML-2 is ..and soon everywhere will be out of stock..
i think usually people buy to keep ..thats why very little 2nd hand around ..and it has been 2 years since ML-2 came out ..
blacktrix
I want a Talk Box now! Looking out for the Banshee as I don't have to pass through my amp.......
dilin
I guess this is way off topic, but RIP Mitch Mitchell...
blacktrix
Yeah, read about last week. RIP.......
SihamZhai
Mitch mitchell should be posted in the drummers paradise la.

Btw guys, are yamaha guitars good?

so geng mou. will the ml2 sounds very.... 'back'? as in it can't cut thru the mix.
the mt2 has this problem no?
blacktrix
I tried the ML-2 while on the quest of my metal pedal. I find it, like gapnap says...... a one trick pony. It's good for like, one thing..... but the problem is, that one thing sounds a heck lot like my hot Marshall with the ZW-44 turned on... which is what I CAN get already.
I wanted something super razor sharp that can slice through steel and my ears bleed...... which is what my live wire does so perfectly.
sarcast

What strings are good again? - for easier pressing and tahan lasak..lol

ernie ball titanium coated tongue.gif
blacktrix
Everybody will have their favorites (Mine is Dunlop acoustics)...... I used to use Elixirs, but find them 'meh'. Sure, it lasts long..... but are they really worth it at RM50 bucks a pack? Tone is pretty good, but I personally prefer the Dunlops. I find the coatings a bit too waxy for my taste..... AGAIN....... this is MY preference....... what seems crap to some, might be bliss to others.

enteryourusername
well, mine is ernie ball regular slinky. haha.
for tahan lasak just wipe ur strings everytime after u play it lah.
