Hey guys, need some help here from any GT-8 users.
there's some problem with my GT-8's pre-amps, the 'combo' amps
seems to be missing and others seems to be interchanged with one another =\..
for example, then i turn my knob to BG LEAD , i got marshall's amps..
and when i turn to R-FIER, i get T-AMP.. its still working properly though..
I've tried to restore factory settings and still doesnt work.. should i send it for repair? =\..
thanks.
nothing wrong with your gt8 actually.
your knob might have been misalligned somehow.
get a cloth, pull the knob out. set it to wherever settings you want, then put the knob back with the indicator on the settings you just set.

Gibson Dark Fire guitar:
http://www.gibson.com/en-us/Lifestyle/Feat...bson-dark-fire/No idea what it is........ but I assume it's something like the Line 6 guitars.....
But Dark Fire? Sounds like a Dragonforce song........
Adding on to blacktrix's post, it seems more details have been released about the Gibson darkfire (its an LP after all)
Gibson DarkfireReally liking the nice dark finish as well as the carbonfiber-esque inlays and pickup covers.
P90 in the neck and Burstbucker in the bridge too
See through pickguard is a nice thing to see
The robot tuning system is also always welcomed and a good addition.
Bad thing is its a limited run and should cost a bomb more than how much a gibson usually is.

yea i thought that was the problem at first..
i've checked the knobs and still the same problem..
in fact when i use it again just now i realized that four of my preamps are missing..
when i turn the knob to that particular missing amp, the display shows nothing at all..
i was wondering can it be the battery problem?
i heard that there's a battery in it to help store settings..
my gt-8 is 3 years old already btw.

Will try to have a jam session or something so folks can try out the Razorback. But right now, I feel the EMG 81 sounds a bit softer. Might think of installing an EMG Afterburner for that added boost.
After all..... this IS going to be my lead guitar.....

Dimebuckers is too sharp for my usage..... kinda ironic in that sense that I actually bought a soon-to-be dimebag guitar........
I'm an EMG man through and through...... but I HAVE been tempted to dip into the Seymour Duncan Blackouts.......
And Vox amplugs wouldn't sound good in the Razorback..... it's more of a power issue rather then the tone issue.

someone on another forum i know is an EMG user, and he recently tried the blackouts.
well, like others say...has more bass, more lows, more of everything...until so much that they actually start to sound artificial.
so he went back to EMGs since he say they give a more 'natural' sound.

And I'm using the Razorback 255..... but I call it the Razerback, as it's Razer Green

Still have 4 more guitars on my GAS list....In order of importance.....

Epiphone Dot Semi-hollow
Schecter Hellraiser C-7 FR.
Fender Telecaster (Most likely the John5 sig)

wat fireworks? i cant see any since they've all been stuffed up his bunghole

taylor big baby also is plywood cept for solid top, but ppl still buy.
fina guitars are cheap and completely solid, but ppl dont buy

basically i guess for budget guitars ppl dont care about wood as much as tone and of cos playability.
blademaster
Nov 13 2008, 09:22 AM
ok....looks like there are more Elvis fans in LYN than I've thought LOL
Talking about Big Baby Taylor, I used to have one. Tonality wise it ain't that bad for travel guitar. Seriously. I already sold it though. Maybe I'm buying the Baby Mahogany next time around...
but lashing out RM2500 for a budget guitar ain't that budget IMO.
If you can top-up to RM3k, you'll be looking at Breedloves already, which I've personally tested a few models and I love them to bits.
So everydying, you tested out this Elvis guitar already?
blacktrix
Nov 13 2008, 10:43 AM
OK boys.... play nice....
Don't forget.... this guitar is really for Elvis fans...... built for people like me and Ever. Sometimes, we don't care about playability, tone or what not..... it's because it's an ELVIS guitar..... that's all enough reason.
Yes, there are cheaper, better guitars out there..... but it's not an OFFICIAL Elvis guitar

call it fanboy-ism or what you will...... but that's kind of how "I" see it.
