Problem description:
I tried to connect with my belkin router but then the internet light blinking. the DSL light on my modem is fine. so i tried to direct connect without the router using the normal setup. It will just stop there at the "connecting WAN(pppoe) miniport)" and then an error message saying the remote server bla bla bla no respond. I encounter this a few times already but it goes a way after a while. The last time i encountered this, i called them up but dunno what they do and it was fixed. they didnt tell me what the problem was. it occured 2 days ago and today it occured in the morning!!! (3am-morning) then it went back to normal. Anyone knows what kind of problem this is and how can i solve it without needing to call them up? i missed my guild war because of this stupid problem!! can all please help smile.gif

if you want connect using router through the modem then your modem should be set at bridge mode not pppoe mode
while router set at pppoe mode. from the pic you posted your modem is set at pppoe mode which is incorrect when u want to connect either using a router or internet connection dialing in windows.
orenzai
but then why when it is on pppoe mode, my router cant connect to the internet ler? the internet icon is blinking there.. sad.gif

1st:
-go to quick configuration
-change to this setting

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Set the dns if u want
Click on Submit, check ur Data light on the modem
If it is light up, then u're connected

2nd:
-click on Admin
-go to Commit and Reboot
-Press Commit and then Reboot (this one to save the setting u have made before)
---that's why many setting changed after the modem been off

U can use ur auto dialling. But before u do this, make sure u able to connect manually so u know that ur line is working.
orenzai
thanks..i will do so when i encoutner that problem again wink.gif
