I was helping a friend to do some clearance at his house and we found a mobo - Asrock socket 775.
I just want to know (for the sake of knowledge ) - what is AGI 8X vga? Is it the same as AGP? What GC can be used with the mobo actually?
Thank you so much for your time and input
Regards.

AGI is Asrock's proprietary type of AGP port. Not all AGP cards are supported for AGI. Compatibility problem with ATI cards. Check the manual for compatible AGP cards.
It is an Agp port, probably stands for accelerated graphic interface?

A.G.I. - ASRock Graphics Interface An innovative design by ASRock’s talent engineer team provides an extension AGP graphics interface on i865GV & i845GV chipset platform.
ASRock A.G.I.8X - Provides an upgradeable graphics interface - Compatible with AGP 8X/4X - Supports Microsoft® Direct X 9.0 standard - Provides Easy Dual Monitor Upgrade (Supports dual-monitor under Windows 2000/ XP)
ASRock AGI 8X brings below benefits to you: - Provides an upgradeable graphics interface for add-on VGA cards on i865GV/i845GV platform - Save your money: compared to i865G/i845G motherboard, the ASRock P4i65GV/P4i45GV R5.0 also provides the VGA upgrade specification through AGI8X but save your money with lower cost than i865G/i845G motherboards. - Unique and unbeatable VGA upgrade capability: Other i865GV/i845GV motherboards only provide with on-board VGA without any AGP8X/4X VGA upgrade interface, while the ASRock P4i65GV/P4i45GV R5.0 with AGI 8X provides both on-board VGA and AGP8X/4X VGA card upgrade interface.
Don't expect good performance from AGI compared to AGP... This is because they adapt it by using one of the PCI lanes. Since PCI lanes run at different voltage and timing than AGP 8x, that is why certain cards are not compatible.
