Hello,
I am new here and wanted to build my gaming PC... Can you guys share with me what are the highest end specs that are available in the market today (processor, motherboard, graphics card, chasis/psu etc)...
Thank you very much...

hmm in my mind a value of rm 30k for this top end machine..
a nvidia 790i board.
gtx 280 tri sli (3 piece)
a good 4 gb of ddr3 ram
raptor 20k in raid(at least 2 piece)
a good water cooling set up
a good and masive casing
most high end intel qx proc
a massive lcd at least 30inch and above
and few more high end stuff..so it should have reach to 30k plus
not to mention the speaker plus the highest end sound card available..
if i can get my hand on this kind of project for my customer i be happy to build this system and test out the best system one could produce

mods should close this thread i guess...

wow.. am excited to see such a great response...
I bought an Alienware hardware back 8 months ago at about USD5.5k and sold it for RM5000 later... Am looking for a new machine now as I think most the components are being replaced by more updated stuff like the Extreme Quad Core, HDD size expansion etc etc...
Sorry for not being specific earlier... I am looking for the highest end CPU (processor, motherboard, and stuff confined in the CPU box only) - I do not need monitor, speakers etc etc as I already have those...
I went to a shop today and was quoted the following specs :
Intel Extreme QX6850 3.0ghz - RM3600
Intel X38BT - RM 870
Gigabyte 9800 GTX2 1GB - RM1900
RAM - Kingston - 8GB - RM540
Seagate 1TB x2 (Raid 0) - RM1340
PSU - CM Real Power M1000 - RM880
Are there any other higher end stuff than the above ?
RegentCid

I found from the Alienware web :
http://www.alienware.com/customize/area-51...SubCode=SKU-ENTthat the comparable specs that were mentioned in these thread were about USD7k... which is about RM22k....
Now in dilema whethere to build one myself or just purchase from Alienware...

i have assembled some PC's before and think it should be okay...
just wanted to get a nice looking casing - the one I saw today was from Cooler Master - Stackable ? but still it doesn't have the lean and mean look like the Alienware Area 51 look....
Any other good looking casing to recommend ?

Alienware doesn't ship to Malaysia, but rather have to buy and then ship to someone (your friend) who has a US postal address and collect from them whenever you have trips to there...
i understand when ur working in that field. hav nearly same experience with u TS.
if that's the case jz diy TS, it's fun n worthy as u buy n build it urself. as for oc'ing it nvr hurts to learn for it rite?
a few suggestions here by other fellow forumers should be enuff for u to plan ur purchasing d.

True, since your working for intel, might be able to get an engineering sample of the skull trail and 2 ES cpus since they are live already.....and if your lucky you might be able to get ES Nehalams. I hooked up a celeron ES cpu/mobo combo bout 10 years ago when i was in the same company

aiya..
adequate system enough la why want to waste so much money.. by this time next year.. ur system will be outdated.. and u probably can get all the same parts for 40% of the price lolz..
suggest get a processor around rm 1.5k
Good mobo costs around 600 - 700
power supply get a good one - 1200 watt - RM 800 - RM 1000
GC: goes to the GTX 280.. SLI??? up to u la.. but i think single card performance already good enough.. why u want that extra 10 FPS??
About RM 1.9K a piece.
Sound card get Xonar D2 for music: RM 500+
RAM: Crucial Ballistix DDR 3 RAM from Shawty.. cheap and good ram
The rest up to u la. wat do u really want ur pc for? if u want to be in the moment... then ok la.. rm 30k will blast you off to the moon and back
But a fairly powerful system u can get it around 8K will do..
if ur super rich and money means nothing to you.. then choose the most expensive parts from the list la.. since money doesnt matter.
