yes, which is why I want you guys to recommend a few good brands. So I dont have to go and choose from 500 different brands out there. laugh.gif

which is typically the best for my price range?
dirsly
pioneer 1050e...
athlonxp
or kenwood low end model

why dont spend a little more to get a mp3 one? like 300-400
dirsly
mebe budget wise...max fund tht ts have in hand.. )
QuickFire
bah I thought rm300 players would come with mp3 functionality. mp3 is ubiquitous and they still cost an extra rm100??

Ok la I'll increase my budget to rm300-400? which is the best now?

Also, where should I go to install it? will any shop do?
dirsly
yep...all shops..but go for the reasonable prc tag..sumtimes is different...check at traders zone under automotive garage...

dirsly

TS & others

Why consider 300-400 budget HU, i would reckon to save up more let say abt 600-700 to get a decent alpine HU. The 98xx series of alpine does a very good player indeed is low end & somehow i believe now the market price is reduce. U never go wrong with alpine HU.

I do not advice to buy CD player below $300 ones as it's just not value to money. Spend another $100 on entry-level branded Japanese brands is much more worth it in relation to durability, functions & overall sound reproduction.

What's this I hear from my friends about CDs skipping when going over bumps/rough terrain?
