Complaint again Moderator but no action taken, why MOD is the King ?

Complaint again garage rule, that is abit funny and brain less when i reply my customer this msg " u got my PM", i send this msg is not indirectly bumping my own post but to tell my customer he got a msg but he din''t realize it ..... why should i get a warning for it ? Mod should be mature enough to see that is a reply or the person do it on purpose ......
Lowyat net grow stronger and bigger but MOD is abusing the rules more and more everyday ..

'u got my pm' is being labelled as one of the indirect bumps iianm.

when a member gets a PM, he gets a notice as well as an email. I think thats sufficient to inform the member he/she has received a PM.

There is no need for you to inform him yourself in your thread that he has a PM.

Its like a phone call. When you call someone, his phone rings, he knows its ringing, and even if he isn't at the phone, he will get a message that there was a miss call. There is no need for you to send him a sms to tell him that you called. He already knows!

This i am on the mod and admin side.

Why you need tell ppl got pm when they receive a pm there is a notification on top.

Like they said u are making yourself look stupid haha

lol... seven's analogy is the best to describe this situation already...

Last time when u read those sales thread, you'll see thousands of bumps and UGPM. It just make your sales thread clean and it's better to read.
J-Slade
But I have to say, there are times when a person will say "UGPM and bump for today". These sellers dont press the bump button but instead prefer to type in their post ala the old way to bump on LYN... so is this considered wrong too?
adrian0229
nope...if u posted on the same day..u cnt bump even if u not yet bump it...it automatically consider bump which is not wrong...correct me if i m wrong biggrin.gif

that is one of the reason.
another reason would be cramping the DB with junk(UGPM, which might take up quite some spaces)

Not allowed. BUMP are only allowed using button. Any post which resembles the link(posted above) will be acted under moderation discretion. You've posted/replied, you've used up your BUMP(button) of the day. Simply to say that you already bring your thread up. You may however replied to your customer question if arise. We also will look at some of the post before deciding on it. One example, you reply 1 post at 10am. There's no additional post by others. You quote another post and replied at 1030am (separately). This action is certainly not allowed. We know there's some abuse with the Do Not Tick combine post option. If we feel you've have overdo your BUMPING, your thread will be *poof* or closed.

Since The R & R Of Forum Listed Very Clear It's Not Allowed..

No Point To Argue Loh.. I Don't Think This Is Abusing Power As Mod Is King..

Just Don't Against The Rule Lo smile.gif

I Found Nothing Wrong With That..

Um, how is your breaking of rules and getting warned for it an abuse of power?
Maturity is irrelevant in your case. It's pretty clear that UGPM posts are specifically prohibited.
Why should you get a warning for it? You shoot someone, you go to jail. You break the rules you get warned, seems fair.

I think se7en's analogy is a little off. When you post ugpm, it's not really just sending him an sms telling him he has a missed call, that'd be more along the lines of pm'ing him again. The equivilant of posting UGPM would be to have it broadcast over the radio or news channels that the guy has a missed call. You're not just letting the one man know it, you're telling THE WHOLE FORUM.

Here's why UGPM is not allowed. Say I have a thread selling blabla, I get maybe 20 questions and decide that since I have time and am at the pc pretty much all day I'll answer them all at different times in between updates and answering questions in thread so I can UGPM them all individually at seperate times to keep my thread on page one. It's exactly the same thing as what you're doing. Multiply by 100-200 and whoever isn't at the pc all day or doesn't have quite as many interested parties will have their thread down in page 10 or 15. Fair? No. You'd then come back here crying about how people are UGPM bumping their threads and ask us to do to them exactly what had been done to you.

I've been posting 90% of my posts in garage sales threads since 2002 and i've never got warned by any mods till date.

7's metaphor is the best for this argument.

Also, pls be considerate as the forum is for all people to be able to participate and i think the current rules and implementations for thread bumps are quite good, so there no need to whine.

I agreed with MOD's view. 'UGPM' should be prohibited and nothing wrong with the thread rules. nod.gif
UGPM is totally 'rubbish' and meshing up the thread...it's very disgusting and annoying to other readers.
Imagine my office email got a lot 'cc' emails yet they are not relevant to me...it's very bad and not organised.
amyhs99
If you don't like the rules, don't trade here. Lol... You are not paying the admin or staff or mod or whatever-it-is to trade here and they have to monitor all of us FOC. Not happy? Open a forum and sell it yourself. Easy?
GuyzNexDoor
I'm not a regular seller or trader in LYN but i definitely a regular customer here.. tongue.gif I think the R & R here is pretty good. Of course there are pros and cons and also rooms for improvement. IMHO, i prefer if the seller / trader post the info in the thread instead of juz put UGPM although the potential buyers asked the info to be send via PM. This can refrain other buyers to ask the same question over and over again, which i think the repeatition of the same question will oso coz the DB fulls of junk.

One more thing, sometimes i must say the other buyers feel the seller not serious enough to sell his / her items bcoz no respond to the previous question but the truth is the seller already respond direct to the person who asked the question through PM.

And for the seller/trader, i think it's depend on your luck oso. There are sellers / traders who put UGPM in his / her thread many times but luckily the MODs haven't notice but there are oso seller who put the word UGPM for the 1st time and straight away get the warning.
