i have a feeling that he is referring to the flash software embedded on the safari. but i may be wrong

either way, iphones do not come with both flash software and hardware

Added on July 5, 2008, 12:45 amthough there are currently external works going on to enable flash inside safari

Adobe has a working flash player that runs on iPhone SDK kit but the problem is it's functional using the iPhone simulator but not on the original device, so they need Apple's full cooperation in order to make it fully working but so far no updates on that.

Indeed, Flash support is still currently unavailable and in the works in preparation for the iPhone 2.0 firmware *fingers crossed* smile.gif. Pretty much everything Mike said. One thing though, some recent investigations have uncovered a patent filed by Apple in the past few months revealing some pictures of the iPhone loading up Flash sites successfully wink.gif.

Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen did mention a while ago that they believe that Flash is SYNONYMOUS with the Internet browsing experience, and that they were indeed planning on bringing Flash to the iPhone. And although his statement was withdrawn the following day, I guess even Apple's developers have probably realized by now that the iPhone Safari experience is missing out a huge chunk without Flash. Hence, here's hopes to the dawn of full, actual Flash support on the iPhone! laugh.gif laugh.gif

This is because Apple are working on their own version of flash (with a fancy name) but with basic functions only (as its still in dev). I've read this in macrumors but cant put my fingers on which article.

Added on July 7, 2008, 4:33 pmActually its a Javascript Framework called Sproutcore that can work like flash.

Read more about it Here.
